ALT ALERT!
Del Amigo & Venture Alternative Education School
Principals Message
Dear Alt Ed Community,
Wishing you all Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. Here is a little reminder for the remainder of this semester and next semester:
AltEd recognizes that some students may choose to remain in their vehicles during lunch. During the school day if a student needs to access their vehicle, they should ask a staff member to escort them to their vehicle. To ensure safety, accountability, and a positive campus environment, the following rules apply:
1. General Parking Rules
Students must park only in designated student parking areas, middle row if they want to access vehicles during lunch.
Vehicles must remain locked when unattended. The school is not responsible for any loss or damage to vehicles or their contents.
2. Staying in Vehicles During Lunch
Students are allowed to remain in their vehicles during the lunch period, provided they follow these guidelines:
No loud music or disruptive behavior (so announcements can be heard)
All trash and waste must be disposed of properly.
Doors may remain closed, but windows need to be down at all times.
Vehicles must remain off.
3. Prohibited Activities
Students may not engage in the following activities while in their vehicles:
Smoking, vaping, or using any tobacco, alcohol, or illegal substances.
Excessive idling of vehicles or unsafe use of car features.
Leaving campus or moving vehicles.
4. Safety and Supervision
Staff will monitor the parking lot during lunch periods to ensure compliance with school policies.
Students are expected to comply with staff directives.
5. Disciplinary Actions
Violations of this policy may result in:
A warning for the first offense.
Call to parent for the second offense.
Revocation of vehicle privileges for repeated violations.
Additional disciplinary measures as outlined in the student code of conduct.
6. Leaving the Parking Lot
Students wishing to leave campus during lunch must follow the proper sign-out procedures and have the necessary permissions.
Students may not return to campus once they leave.
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in disciplinary action or revocation of these priveleges.
Here's to a year of new beginnings and endless possibilities looking forward to a positive 2025.
