The Odyssey

From the Principal
Hello MQSCA Families-
This Sunday, we celebrate the 8th week of Ordinary Time and the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity.
The church uses different colors for the various seasons in the Church Calendar. Purple and Pink are used for Advent, Purple for Lent, Red for Masses for Martyrs, and White for the Easter Season and Christmas. Each color has its own significance. Ordinary time is represented by the color green, which symbolizes new life as the season transitions from spring to summer. It follows Advent and the Christmas Season, reminding us of the new life brought by Jesus' birth, as well as the new life through Jesus' death and resurrection during Lent and Easter.
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity affirms the belief in one God living through three divine persons: God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In the first reading from Deuteronomy, Moses preaches about the raw power of God, emphasizing how God will take the nation of Egypt through testing, signs and wonders, war, and great terrors. In Paul's letter to the Romans, we hear "for those led by the Spirit of God are sons of God." And in Matthew's Gospel, Jesus tells the 11 disciples, "all power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."
The mystery of the Holy Trinity may be one of the most difficult concepts to comprehend. Those who affirm that it is not a hard concept may have a higher degree of faith and accept it as it is. However, the concept has been debated more than any other mystery in the Catholic faith. Even the best Theologians wrestle with the difficulty of this mystery, as they are reminded that some secrets are only understood by the divine. This mystery, however, reinforces an important part of our faith: trusting in the Lord, even when it is difficult. We trust that this Trinity, which is beyond human understanding, gives us salvation and eternal life.
In Christ-
Mr. Lee
