The Renton High School
Weekly Update 8.30.2024
Happy Friday, RedHawkS!
I hope this finds you well following a wonderful start to the 2024/2025 school year! The past week has been busy as our staff prepared to welcome our students back from summer break. We spent time building community as a staff as well as discussing and aligning around some important schoolwide expectations. I am proud of our staff for their efforts to start strong, and together, knowing that when our adults are aligned, we are better for our students and for each other. As we opened our doors on Wednesday morning, our students brought the Pride, Tradition, and Excellence that The Renton High School is so well known for. We thank you for all you did to get them ready for a productive and positive school year.
Please see the important information below and as always, we welcome and appreciate your feedback and ideas. Have a safe and joyful Labor Day weekend!
It's a wonderful day to be a RedHawk!

The IB Corner
RHS IB families of CO 2024!
Paper IB Diplomas and Certificates for CO 2024 seniors have arrived from Cardiff, Wales today. Mr. Collie is at RHS on Tuesdays and Thursdays and former students or family members can come to the main office with ID on those days to collect them. We recognize that many students are out of town at college now, so we are happy to hand them out throughout the school year!
If you would like to pick up your student's diploma/certificate on another day, please contact Mr. Collie in advance and I can have it ready for you to pick up at the front desk, again with ID.
Thank you so much for supporting your students as they took IB exams, we are very proud of all of them! Please pass this message along to any friends who had an IB Senior take exams in May who might not get this newsletter!
If your student is interested in meeting with Mr. Collie (IB Diploma) or Mr. Bento (IB Career), they can make an appointment to meet with them to learn about both programs. Please reach out if you have any questions. Please visit https://rentonhs.rentonschools.us/programs/ib for more information.
