Message From the Principal
This last week was so fun at Ridge View! From our spirit days, to the Fun Run, and the Fall Festival, it was a wonderful week. Seeing so many excited and smiling faces was adorable. Thank you for supporting our school community!
I hope to see as many of you as possible on Friday, October 4th, for our first Coffee with the Principal. We will meet in the Ridge View library from 8:15 to 9:00 am. I will share a bit of information about the start of the year and then be there to answer questions you may have about our school and our district. Please RSVP for this event just below this message!
Thank you so much to those of you who have been able to volunteer to help in our cafeteria, on the playground, and with our Fun Run! It has been wonderful to have the extra support and to get to see you in the school. I am so grateful for our PTC and the work that has gone into organizing this for our students and staff! We have a couple of quick reminders about our school day and procedures:
Please make sure to use our designated crosswalks when coming to/from the school to ensure your student's safety.
Please make sure to stop by the office, sign in, and grab a badge if you are here to volunteer or have lunch with your child.
As the weather begins to change, please make sure you send your student to school with a jacket and other warm clothing as we will be outside for recess unless it is below 0° F.
Our first morning bell rings at 8:05 and the tardy bell is at 8:15.
If your child arrives at school after 8:15, they need to come through the front entrance.
Student cellphones and smart watches need to be turned off and kept in backpacks during the school day.
Please remember to send your student with gym shoes. This ensures that our gym floor stays clean and safe.
Please stay off the playground at the end of the day until our bell rings at 3:15.

The Nature Nook is open for learning! In the Fall of 2023, we were able to build a gazebo that sits on a donated concrete pad. A few trees and daffodil bulbs were planted to enhance the space.
We would like to develop this space even more by adding a greenhouse. We are currently in conversations with the Belgrade Education Foundation and Ridge View PTC to discuss funding for this project. However, we need your help!
Project Needs:
- A spigot will need to be installed to grant access to the building's water. We will need a licensed plumber to volunteer to help with the spigot installation.
- Concrete and rebar, forms, gravel, and labor would be needed to create a pad that is approximately 8”x10” for the greenhouse.

- We will need a couple qualified builders to help with assembly.
As we are anticipating snow and frozen ground, this project may not transpire until spring. If you are at all interested in being part of the learning opportunity that this will provide for our RV students. Please contact our principal, Natalie Colombo, if you can help.
We appreciate the families and Ridge View community that came and supported our annual Fun Run! Our goal was to raise $5,100 and we reached that goal. The donations you parents sent in for the baskets were phenomenal. Thanks for your participation!
Our Reach for the Stars fundraiser (cash donations) and Believe fundraiser (catalog purchases) started on September 27 and runs until October 14. If you have not already received the information about these fundraisers please reach out to your child's teacher. Even if you don't purchase anything from the Believe catalog, please register your child so RV can be entered into a drawing for $2,500 and your child will be entered into daily drawings at school.
Pumpkin Carving night is coming up on October 25 at Ridge View. We always need help setting up, cutting open pumpkins, handing out snacks, and cleaning up. If you are interested in helping then please come to our PTC meeting on October 1 or email us at rvptc1@gmail.com.
The ROARing Holiday Bazaar will be December 7 from 9 am to 2 pm. If you are interested in renting a booth for the bazaar please email RidgeviewHolidayBazaar@gmail.com and we will send you an application. If you are interested in being on our bazaar committee please come to our next PTC meeting or email the same email.
