TEEN TECH CONVENTION

We are excited to announce CVUSD’s seventh annual Teen Tech Convention, sponsored by Student Support Services and the Thousand Oaks Teen Center!
This STEAM focused event is open to 6th-grade CVUSD students who are interested in educational and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics, and other technical subjects.
This presentation-style conference will take place on Thursday, May 30th, at the Thousand Oaks Teen Center, located at 1375 E. Janss Rd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362, from 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Students will be dismissed and excused from class at 11:30 a.m. to board the bus and depart campus around 11:45 a.m.)
A pizza lunch will be provided by the Teen Center upon arrival. Students are welcome to bring a lunch of their own if they would like something else to eat that afternoon.
The Teen Tech Convention is a FREE EVENT open to all CVUSD 6th grade students. If you have already signed up, you do not need to submit your information again. Bus transportation from school to the Teen Center will be provided – one-way only. A digital field trip permission slip is included in the registration form linked below. Our school’s GATE facilitator will accompany/chaperone students to this off-site event.
PARENTS MUST PICK UP THEIR STUDENT AT THE THOUSAND OAKS TEEN CENTER (1375 E. Janss Rd) BETWEEN 3:00 PM AND 3:10 PM ON THURSDAY, MAY 30th.
Please note that bus space is limited to the first 50 students from each school. Click here to complete the registration form and digital field trip permission slip if you would like your 6th-grade GATE student to attend.

Congratulate your 8th grader with a special congratulatory marquee message! Messages run Monday through Friday and must be ordered one week in advance of the desired display date (most promotion messages run the last week of school or the week before, depending on the parent's choice).

WHS Girls Volleyball Team Summer Camp
Future 9th graders interested in Playing Girls Volleyball in the Fall '24 at Westlake High School. There will be a Summer Camp July 15-17 and Tryouts on July 18 from 5-7:30pm. Registration is REQUIRED.
WHS Freshman Basketball Camp
Future 9th graders going to Westlake High School and are interested in playing basketball in the Fall '24, sign up to attend Freshman Camp 2024. Camp will run from June 17-19, 2024. Registration is REQUIRED.

2024 Get Ahead Options (Summer)
Attention 8th Grade Families -
The Conejo Schools Foundation will once again be offering Get Ahead Summer School opportunities for Summer 2024. Here are some courses provided:
Course List
- Geometry H
- Chemistry H
- US & World History CP & H
- Spanish 1/2/3 CP
- Health (3 weeks)
- PE (3 or 6 weeks)
Please see the attached flier for the available courses, cost of taking a class, and when classes begin and end.
Get Ahead Program 2024 Dates to Know
- Registration Opens: February 1
- Semester 1: June 17 – July 3 (no class June 19)
- Semester 2: July 8 – 23
Please note that most courses span the full 6 weeks, with Health or one session of PE as the exceptions.

Please select the Council(s)/Committee(s) that you would like to receive information and updates on, approximately monthly. If you have students at multiple school sites, please submit the form for each school. Additionally, if you opted-in last year, please plan to do so annually. Importantly, should you choose to opt-in to receiving these updates, the parent/guardian representative for the Advisory Council(s)/Committees(s) and/or the administration will not share your email address with others. You also have the ability to opt-out at any time in the event you no longer wish to receive the Advisory Council/Committee information.
