Bonham Purple Warrior Athletics

Our baseball season has come to a close after losing in the Bi-District round of the UIL State Baseball Playoffs. We hosted Emory Rains on Thursday May 2. We had a great home crowd show up to support our Purple Warriors. Game 1 went to Rains in extra innings 6-5. Senior Darian Yarborough started us off with a bang in the 1st inning hitting his 2nd HR of the year. He also pitched 6 1/3 innings. We went on to lose game 2 in Emory. We are very proud of our baseball team and coaching staff for getting us back in the playoff in 2024.

Weather couldn't keep us down. What is normally a 2 day event was adjusted to cover 4 days because of weather. We had five male athletes make it to the Regional Track Meet in 7 events. All of those athletes made the finals in at least one of their events. Our 4x200m relay team finished 7th(Brynlee Owens, DJ Stewart, Anthony Andino, Devin Pittman). Devin Pittman finished 7th in the 200m . Hunter Horton finished 5th in mile and 2 mile while breaking his own school record in both events.
