VIDEO: Dr. Carpenter Shares Bond 2025 Information
The Argyle ISD Bond Election is May 3. Early voting starts April 22. The bond proposal was built by the community-led Bond & Growth Planning Committee and addresses student enrollment growth, campus improvements and infrastructure.
Key Facts:
- Bond does not include a tax rate increase.
- AISD is expected to exceed 11,000 students in 2034-2035 (currently 6,200 students)
- Prop A includes new construction - Middle School #2 & Elementary #6
- Prop B includes Baseball/Softball Complex at AHS in Canyon Falls (currently AHS plays at AMS, site of the future second HS)
- Reminder: the ballot language, per state law, is required to say "This is a property tax increase." State law does not allow district to change ballot language, regardless of the tax rate impact.
✅ Vote for Zoey! AHS Junior's Art Showcased
Argyle High School junior art student Zoey Bouquio is one of several students across the state with art featured in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition Gallery Texas Choice Award.
Congressman Gill selected “Faith of Our Fathers” as the guiding theme for this year’s 26th Congressional District Art Competition. The competition was open to public, private, and home-schooled high school students residing and/or attending schools located in the 26th Congressional District of Texas.
The Texas Choice Winner will be selected by friends, family, and community members of Texas' 26th District. The artwork receiving the most votes in the online gallery from Monday, April 7- Friday, April 11 will be declared the Texas Choice Winner, and that student artist will have the opportunity to have their artwork hung in Congressman Gill’s Flower Mound district office for the upcoming year.
🎶 AHS Choir Earns Sweepstakes at UIL 🎶
Congratulations to the AHS Concert Choir on making sweepstakes at the 2025 UIL Concert and Sight Reading Competition!
These talented students received "Exemplary" ratings in both performances—where they sang three memorized pieces—and sight reading, where they performed a piece of music at first sight.
A special shout-out goes to Argyle Band junior Alan Epperson, who accompanied the choir on triangle and snare drum and even received recognition from the judges for his outstanding contribution!
We’re also excited to share that all Argyle High School choirs received the highest possible ratings at UIL this year. We are incredibly proud of these hardworking and talented students!

🚨 School Funding - Call to Action!🚨
Texas public schools are facing critical funding challenges, and we need your voice to help make a difference. Lawmakers are in session and NOW is the time to speak up for meaningful investment in our schools, staff, and students.
TODAY, April 10, the Texas House will gather to cast one of its most important votes of this legislative session - passing its version of the state budget. While about seven weeks of the legislative session still remain, ‘House Budget Night’ is a decisive moment for many legislative efforts. Currently, the House’s version of the state budget appropriates around $7.7 billion for school funding increases. However, an investment to match 2019’s historic basic allotment increase would cost $14.8 billion, while simply allowing school districts to keep up with inflation since 2019 would cost $19.6 billion. The combination of inflation and a lack of new state funding has also created financial pressure for our schools and teachers.
What Can You Do? Contact your local legislators and urge them to:
1. Increase the basic allotment for public school students
2. Address inflationary costs that districts can’t absorb on their own
3. Support sustainable funding solutions for teacher pay and student resources
4. Prioritize school safety
A quick email or phone call can go a long way. Be respectful, be passionate, and speak up for the future of Texas public education.
Visit Raise Your Hand Texas for talking points, contact info for your lawmakers, and more ways to get involved. https://www.raiseyourhandtexas.org/250408-school funding/
🏆 AMS Band Brings Home 3 Sweepstakes Awards! 🏆
For the third year in a row, the Argyle Middle School Band took 3 bands to the UIL Concert and Sightreading evaluation and all 3 groups earned a first division ("Superior") rating in both the Concert and Sightreading portions of the contest.
The concert portion consists of performing music the students have been working on for 2-3 months while the sightreading portion consists of performing a piece the students only have about 7-8 minutes to study before performing!
The middle school band students brought home 3 Sweepstakes trophies again this year and we are so proud of them for continuing the tradition of excellence!
Taste Testing! Superintendent's Council Gets Special Treat
Wednesday marked the final meeting of the Superintendent Student Advisory Council for the school year! This amazing group of students from grades 7–12 has provided valuable insight and feedback on key district topics and initiatives all year long.
In Wednesday’s session, they participated in a taste-testing experience with our Student Nutrition Team, sampling potential dining options for next year’s menu. They sampled brisket quesadillas, boneless chicken wings, chicken alfredo and fried pies!
They also shared peer-collected feedback on the Student Handbook, offering input on dress code, exam exemptions, and cell phone use—important topics that will help guide campus leaders as they review revisions this summer.
We’re so proud of these students for representing their campuses and sharing the voice of their
peers. Thank you for your leadership and engagement this year!
