A Note from Ms. Thomas and Mr. Jondle
Dear Indian Mound Middle School Students and Families,
Welcome to the start of a new school year at Indian Mound Middle School! We are thrilled to have each of you as part of our school community, and we can't wait to embark on this exciting journey together.
This first week is all about getting to know one another, settling into routines, and building the strong, supportive community that makes our school so special. Whether you’re a returning member of the IMMS family or new to our school, we want you to know that you are a valued part of this community.
As we begin this school year, we encourage everyone to approach each day with curiosity, kindness, and a willingness to learn from one another. Together, we will create an environment where everyone feels safe, respected, and inspired to achieve their best.
Let’s make this year at Indian Mound Middle School one of growth, learning, and unforgettable experiences!

6th GRADE ONLY
😀6th: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL on 9/3 from WEB Coordinators
Hello 6th Grade Families!
We are very excited that your child will be attending Indian Mound Middle School, and we look forward to seeing them at our 6th Grade Orientation Day on Tuesday, September 3rd at IMMS. Our WEB Program will help get your 6th grader off to a great start!
WHAT IS WEB?
WEB is a nationwide program designed to welcome and support 6th graders by connecting them with WEB Leaders, who are positive, responsible, hand-selected 8th graders. Your student's WEB Leaders will help them feel more comfortable as well as help them achieve success in their first year of middle school. Doesn't that sound great? It is!
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
A week before orientation, your child will receive a phone call from their WEB Leader personally inviting them to orientation day and giving the details of where to be and what time. The Leaders can also answer any questions they may have.
Your student will not be using their locker on this first day. We will have a spot to place backpacks/lunches.
Here is the link to the menu. Grab-and-go options will be listed soon.
Because the day is active, please make sure that your student wears comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement.
Cell phones must be Off and Away.
WEB Orientation is for students only. Students should come in the A doors (near the office) and wait in the cafeteria. There will be lots of adults there to help out in any way! We look forward to a great orientation day!

Progressive Behavior Response Plan
This plan is a tool designed to offer consistency across the district so that responses to student behavior reflect best practices and are provided equitably from school to school when student behavior requires a corrective, restorative, and/or instructional response or consequence. Through this plan we will maintain a safe and positive learning environment that fosters student belonging, positive and trusting relationships, and student growth. The goal of the plan is to provide staff, students and adults a clear framework that includes our beliefs, expectations, and commitments for responding to student behavior. The full plan can now be found on our website.
