Teacher Appreciation & APT News
Technology Update
Dear DPM Families,
We’d like to express our wholehearted gratitude for each DPM teacher and staff member who teach and support our students every day. To our staff, you are the heart and soul of our school, and you go above and beyond to ensure every student feels supported and encouraged. Parents, thank you for entrusting us with your children's education.
This week in Advisory, DPM students showed gratitude to their teachers by writing thank you notes. Here are some of the thoughtful student notes delivered to our staff this week:
"Thank you for making math fun. I appreciate how you make the lesson fun and engaging. I am better at math because of you."
"You have filled class with so much fun and joy. I love coming into your classroom, it is such a relaxing place to be in. All your effort to make your room interactive has made such a difference on my learning this year."
“Thank you for always being so talkative and nice. Every time I go to the CUBE, you always ask how my games have been going.”
“I can’t believe I had you my first year at DPM and now I’m graduating. You were a great teacher during a hard time. Thank you for your kindness. I want to go to the 5/6 side and visit before I leave.”
“Thank you so much for being here at DPM! You are so nice and funny and you made the musicals so fun. I’m going to miss you!”
“You are very kind and very generous. You have had an amazing positive influence to keep the school clean. Thank you!”
“You are so sweet and kind. I like seeing you every day. You’re the best!”
Again, thank you to our amazing staff for all that they do!
Sincerely,
Megan Eigenrauch, 5/6 Principal
Sam Paulsen, 7/8 Principal

Attention 7th-Grade Families: Important Date Change for 2024 Washington DC Trip
After much deliberation (including thorough discussion with D67 Leadership) and concern for our DPM students' emotional and physical safety, the Washington, D.C trip is being moved from November 8-10 to October 25-27. We understand this may be an inconvenience for your family, for which we are truly sorry, If your child is registered and this new date does not work for your family, you will have ten (10) calendar days from today to cancel your trip with 100% of your money back (including the cost of trip insurance if previously purchased).
If the new weekend works for you and your child is already registered you do not need to do anything. If you have not yet signed up and want your child to join this travel experience with their peers and teachers, then follow the directions below on how to get registered.
Please know that we can only take 125 students and will start a waitlist at that point. Registration will end June 30 or earlier if we reach that number.
Please refer to this Travel With Peers Newsletter for cancellation information or registration instructions. Feel free to contact Mrs. Tiveron or Mrs. Pedersen at Travelwithpeers@gmail.com

Graduation Party Permission Form - Parents must give their permission for their student(s) to attend this event. Please do so by filling out this quick form.
On Friday, May 24, from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm, the APT's 8th Grade Committee will host a pre-graduation celebration for everyone in the 8th-grade class at The Farm System at 921 Sherwood Dr. in Lake Bluff (next to Lake Forest Pediatrics).
This fun night is Country Themed! Western dress is encouraged but not required—your child should wear what makes them most comfortable!
Drop off and pick up for the event will happen in the back of the building. Space in the rear parking lot is a little tight so carpooling is encouraged. A parent/guardian must drop off and pick-up. Students are not allowed to ride their bikes or walk. We will also be collecting cell phones from the kids. They will be collected at check-in, labeled, and tucked away for the duration of the celebration and returned at the end of the evening. We will have photographers on hand to capture pictures of the students that will be posted to a shared drive after the event and sent out.
Thank you!
