More Than a Month: Honoring Women, Making History
Education is more than a tool—it is a force for justice, a path to opportunity, and a catalyst for change. At Rocky Mountain Prep, we believe, as Dolores Huerta said, that “The only way to end poverty and inequality is through education. Knowledge is power.” These words are embedded in our Academic Vision, guiding our commitment to ensuring that every student has access to the knowledge and opportunities they need to design a life they love.
This week, we honor Dolores Huerta, a lifelong activist, labor leader, and champion for workers’ and civil rights. As co-founder of the United Farm Workers, she fought tirelessly for fair wages, safe working conditions, and access to education for marginalized communities. Her rallying cry, “Sí, se puede”—Yes, we can—became a movement, inspiring generations to fight for justice. Through her advocacy, she has empowered countless individuals, proving that education is not just a pathway out of poverty but a fundamental right that transforms lives.
As we continue celebrating Women’s History Month, let’s honor the women who have used their voices to uplift others and recommit to ensuring that education remains a gateway to equity, opportunity, and lasting change.
Happy Women’s History Month!
PEAK Teachers at NST: Celebrating Progress & Looking Ahead
On March 3rd, our incredible PEAK Teachers gathered at NST for a full day of professional learning, collaboration, and codifying their best practices. This session marked their last official gathering before their End-of-Year Reception on May 9th, where we will celebrate their growth and impact.
Throughout the day, PEAK Teachers observed our NST Weekly Meeting, engaged in deep reflection on leadership, and worked on their Codification of Best Practices in Teaching at RMP and Problem of Practice projects. In addition, they collaborated on a special initiative that will support high school seniors in fulfilling their community service requirements through multilingual translations and mentorship. This work exemplifies the power of educators as change-makers empowering students to extend their influence beyond the classroom and into the broader community.
As we prepare to welcome a new cohort of PEAK Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year, we recognize the powerful foundation this year’s group has built. Their work not only strengthens instruction at RMP but also paves the way for future leaders in our community.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this day meaningful and to our NST team for warmly welcoming the PEAK Teachers into our space. Stay tuned for your invitation to the May 9th reception—where we will showcase the projects from this year’s PEAK Teachers. it's an event you won't want to miss!
