National Principal's Day May 1st
Mrs. Christy Fehler, Gililland Principal
Gililland Eagles celebrated our school principal, Mrs. Fehler, Wednesday May 1st. Mrs. Fehler goes above and beyond each day to support staff and students. She even directs traffic in the front of school at dismissal time! Gililland Elementary is extremely lucky to have Mrs. Fehler.
Gililland Eagles know that one of Mrs. Fehler's favorite things is Garfield the cat. She has a special collection of Garfield's in her office. To show appreciation for our beloved principal, students and staff wore orange in honor of Mrs. Fehler's favorite cartoon cat, Garfield. Classes also decorated bulletin boards and made cards to show how much they care for her.
Gililland Eagles LOVE Mrs. Fehler!
GES Cafeteria Staff and Lunch Monitors
The first Friday in May is School Lunch Hero Day, dedicated to those men and women who make the cafeterias and the schools a better place to be! What is your favorite school lunch? Do you remember the smiling face who served it to you? For many of us, the cafeteria is one of the first places we go to on a school day. From the first time through the cafeteria line, the lunch hero has more than nutrition on their minds. The well-being of every child is important to them. Keeping them safe, happy, and providing them with good and delicious food is also a priority. We thank our amazing cafeteria staff for all they do for us! They truly are our superheroes!
Teacher Appreciation Week
We LOVE our TEACHERS!
May 6th through May 10th is Teacher Appreciation week! We would like to recognize and thank all of our teachers for their dedication and hard work throughout the school year. This year, the Gililland Student Council has created a school spirit week in honor of their wonderful educators!
Monday: Wear your teacher's favorite color!
Tuesday: Wear your teacher's favorite team shirt or team's colors!
Wednesday: Our teachers are Superheroes! Wear a superhero t-shirt. (NO COSTUMES PLEASE!)
Thursday: Dress like your teacher!
Friday: We are proud of our school! School Spirit day! Wear GES shirts or school colors (Blue and White)!
Thank you to all of our Gililland Teachers. We love you!
