Updates & Reminders

1st Semester Exams will be on January 15th (1st/2nd period), Jan. 16th (3rd/4th period) and Jan. 17th (5th/6th period).

Senate Goodwill Fundraiser

Titans, we're hosting a Goodwill Household Essentials fundraiser in the main office until next Friday, the 20th, to support first-time homeowners. Items to donate include brooms, laundry detergent, hand soap, mops, toilet paper, and other home essentials. If you're unable to donate items, envelopes are available in your first-hour classes to contribute any amount of money. Student Senate will use these funds to purchase additional home essentials for donation. Thank you for your support!

Athletic Department Updates

Afterschool SPEED TRAINING for all athletes runs Tuesday/Thursday immediately after 6th hour. Meet near the weight room (free).

Athlete of the Week

West Student Senate voted Lincoln Lockhart our Athlete of the Week for his performance on the basketball court! The senior point guard poured in 24 points to lead the Titans to big win over Marquette last Friday night. The team is off to a 4-1 start this season and his play is a big reason why, good luck to the boys next week when they head to Alpena.

Athlete of the Week II

West Student Senate voted Caden Stoops our Athlete of the Week for his performance on the basketball court! The “do it all” senior swingman has been scoring the basketball, reboundingg and providing solid interior defense leading the team to a 4-1 start this season! West is proud of Caden; good luck to the boys this winter. #GOWEST!

TCAPS Updates

Superintendent Monthly Office Hours

Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) Superintendent, Dr. John VanWagoner, will have monthly “office hours”, alternating each month between in person and virtual meetings. In person office hours will be held at Horizon Books, 243 E. Front Street, Traverse City, MI 49684 on the second floor (Mezzanine level). Virtual office hours will be held via Google Meet and can be accessed here or by calling +1 475-549-0438‬ and entering PIN: ‪961 104 679‬#. All meetings begin at 5:00 pm. The alternating schedule will be as follows:

  • Tuesday, January 14, 2025 - Google Meet
  • Tuesday, February 11, 2025 - Horizon Books
  • Tuesday, March 11, 2025 - Google Meet
  • Tuesday, April 8, 2025 - Horizon Books
  • Tuesday, May 13, 2025 - Google Meet

TCAPS Board of Education Monthly Office Hours

The Traverse City Area Public Schools (TCAPS) Board of Education will host its next monthly “office hours” in person on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Horizon Books, 243 E. Front Street, Traverse City, MI 49684. The meeting will be located on the mezzanine level (second floor) of the bookstore. TCAPS Board office hours provide community members with the opportunity to talk to a school board trustee. This month, President Newman-Bale is scheduled to attend.
