CLASS OF 2024- Paying for College
The FAFSA and ORSAA Applications are open.
Update on completed FAFSA applications: The Department of Education announced that colleges and state agencies will not start receiving students' completed FAFSA information until the “first half of March” at the earliest. This will likely delay students receiving their financial aid offers from colleges. Please continue to check your email as some colleges are pushing back their decision deadlines from May 1 to June 1. The colleges and universities you have been accepted to should be sending communications regarding any changes.
There will be similar adjustments to many scholarship applications that require a completed FAFSA. Students may be asked for a pdf of the FAFSA submission email to verify that they have completed the FAFSA while they wait for access to the FAFSA submission summary.
The FAFSA is a federal document completed by the student and parent, with information from the parents’ 2022 tax filing. It assesses the student’s and their family's financial situation to determine how much they can afford for college. The FAFSA is the form for accessing grants, federal student loans, and work-study funds (need-based financial aid).
Students and their parents will need their own FSA ID in order to fill out the FAFSA. If you do not already have an FSA ID, you can set one up now at https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch. It can take a few days for this to process.
Access the FAFSA here: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa

The ORSAA (Oregon Student Aid Application) is the document to be completed by students who do not have a Social Security Number.

Local Scholarships
The Wilsonville community is very supportive of our graduating seniors and each year we are able to award over $50,000 in scholarships during Senior Awards Night. Seniors should be watching the Google Classroom and Naviance for the release of community scholarship applications. Below are two that are available now:
Colton Holly Memorial Scholarship: For a senior who has been an active participant in school athletics.
The Superintendent’s Scholarship: For Seniors enrolling in college in the fall 2024-25. Weight will be given to first generation and historically underrepresented students.
Regional Scholarship
Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center Scholarship: For seniors who have intentions to pursue a career in health care. Scholarship #9 - Irene Stephenson High School Scholarship Endowment
Class of 2024 Scholarship & Financial Aid Opportunities
Many scholarships require applicants to complete the FAFSA or ORSAA.
OSAC Scholarship Application Announcement: OSAC is very aware of how the FAFSA Soft Launch will impact its scholarship deadlines.
February 15 Early Bird Deadline: FAFSA is not required to submit and be considered for the Early Bird scholarship
New April 1 deadline (extended from March 1 date): Students will need to have the FAFSA/ORSAA submitted by this date.
OSAC: One application qualifies students for multiple scholarships. Think of the Common App for scholarships. Students write four personal statements and complete an activity chart. Occasionally, a scholarship may ask for additional information. Each scholarship has its own criteria and limitations. These scholarships are available to Oregon residents who will attend college (in and out of state).
FAFSA or ORSAA is required
