What's new with Watkins Middle?

• Please be sure that students are dressed appropriately for the weather. We will continue to go outside for recess, weather permitting. When recess is outside all students will be required to report outside, and therefore its important that they have the appropriate attire.
• Our concert choir will be traveling to several assisted living facilities this month to perform. Different groups will be travelling on the 10th & 17th of this month.
• The annual winter Orchestra concert will take place December 11th here at WMS. Families will be able to access the auditorium through the front doors prior to the 6pm start time. The winter band concerts will take place the following night December 12th in the high school auditorium. Sixth grade band will start at 6:30pm. Warrior, Gold, and Symphonic bands will begin performances at 8:00pm.
• December club day will take place this Friday 12/13.
• As a follow up to some of our previous communications related to cars dropping off and picking up: The post office and Licking County Sheriff's office have relayed to the school that vehicles blocking the ability of mail delivery in neighborhoods can be subject to ticketing. Please avoid dropping your child off or picking them up in these areas.
• If you're still looking to order pictures for the holiday season you can order pictures through jostens. Be sure to use the event code: FE66924
• With the holiday season arriving we recognize that not all students have the same opportunities to enjoy the holidays. If your family is in need of assistance please fill out this form.

Hometown Ticketing

• Varsity Ticket events are $7 up to 1 hour before the event. At the gate tickets are $8 (use of a card includes a fee at the gate). Middle School tickets are $5.

• All athletes should enter and exit the building through the 600 hall (Door 7) entrance before and after practice each day.

• 12/21 thru 1/5-Winter break (Students return Monday 1/6)

Bus concerns:

We ask that you please contact the Transportation Department directly at 740-927-5901 with any concerns about your student’s bus (late arrival or other issues). Their phones are manned 6:00 am to 5:00 pm, and they have direct contact with all buses.

Attendance:

Please call the 24 hour WMS attendance line at (740) 927-6807 to report student absences. This voicemail box is available 24/7 and messages are retrieved on school days between the hours of 7:00am through 3:00pm.

If your student will miss school due to a pre-planned absence, please complete this Trip/Vacation Authorization Form.
