A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear SHS Parents, Students, and Staff,
Last Wednesday marked a special day at Sacred Heart School as we gathered for the final Liturgy of the 2023-2024 school year. The spirit of togetherness filled the air as the 1st- grade hosted the Mass.
Following the Mass, we held our annual Step-Up Ceremony. This heartwarming tradition saw each grade level take center stage in the church. It was an honor to reminisce with each class, highlighting all their incredible achievements and celebrating the milestones they reached this year. A highlight of the ceremony was witnessing the symbolic passing of the torch of leadership from our graduating 8th graders to the incoming 7th-grade class.
As we celebrated each grade level, we couldn't help but sense the anticipation for the exciting challenges and responsibilities that lie ahead. I challenged our students to embrace these opportunities with confidence and a spirit of growth. With the echoes of the ceremony still in our hearts, we move forward with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Congratulations to all our students on a fantastic year!
Many Blessings,
Mrs. Joanna Barlow
Principal
ALISON COLONNA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Congratulations to sixth grader Scarlett Murray for being selected as the recipient of the Alison Colonna Memorial Scholarship. During today’s mass Mr. Colonna awarded Scarlett a full tuition scholarship for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Scarlett’s family graciously accepted the scholarship and expressed their gratitude to Mr. Colonna and God for this generous gift.
DILIGENCE AWARD WINNERS
Congratulations to the following students for being an example of Diligence throughout the month of May: Jordan Godfrey, Malia Hall, Frances Redmond Vazquez, Jaden Precil, Khyler McKiernan, Natalia Cruz, Molly Murray, Leo Hubbell, Alyssa Matlack, Jason Bruno, Paige Pierce, Gavin Stokes, Kelsie Giarra, and Heavenly Weah.
COLORING CONTEST WINNER
Congratulations to 4th grader, Arielle Derissaint who recently participated in the American Legion's 2023-2024 Coloring Contest, where the theme honored the 80th anniversary of D-Day (June 6, 1944). Arielle's impressive artwork not only took first place at American Legion Post 11, but also garnered her the top prize for the entire Burlington County! This incredible achievement earned her a well-deserved $125 award. We're incredibly proud of Arielle's talent and dedication, and we applaud her for participating in such a meaningful contest.
8TH GRADE DINNER DANCE
Last Friday night, the 8th grade class celebrated their final year at Sacred Heart in style. The 8th Grade Dinner Dance was a night filled with delicious food, festive decorations, and unforgettable memories. Students and faculty alike (though the faculty might just admit to having a little more fun on the dance floor) danced the night away, creating lasting memories with their classmates and teachers. A huge thank you goes out to Mr. Burke for his planning and organization, and to Mrs. Holmes for her creative touch with the decor and delectable desserts. Their efforts ensured the evening was a resounding success. A fantastic time was had by all!
CLASS OF 2024 AWARDS AND PINNING
The Class of 2024 took center stage last Wednesday evening for a ceremony filled with pride and recognition. The auditorium buzzed with excitement as parents, faculty, presenters, and friends gathered to celebrate our graduates.
The evening kicked off with the awards ceremony. Our graduates were honored for their academic excellence, athletic prowess, and outstanding contributions to co-curricular activities. It was a heartwarming display of dedication, talent, and achievement.
Following the awards, each graduate had a special moment in the spotlight as they received their Sacred Heart Pin from a member of the faculty. This symbolic gesture marked their official transition from students to alumni, forever connected to the Sacred Heart community. The night culminated with a heartwarming video montage that showcased the Class of 2024's last year in our school.
To cap off the evening, a delicious dessert reception provided one last opportunity for graduates and their families to connect with friends and faculty. It was a bittersweet moment, filled with joy for accomplishments and a touch of sadness as goodbyes were exchanged.

CAR LINE SAFETY INFORMATION
Over the past few weeks, we have seen some reckless driving during drop off and pick up. In an effort to keep everyone safe, please read below and refresh yourselves with our drop off and pick up procedures.
CAR LINE TIPS ON ARRIVAL
Form 2 lanes. The right lane is for grades K-8, the left lane is for our Pre-K students. Families with students in both PreK and K-8 should stay in the right lane.
When arriving you will be greeted by Father John and myself. Please wait your turn in the car lanes. Once in the drop off area, have your child exit the car. K-8 students will be dropped off in front of the main gym doors. Pre-K will circle around and be dropped off in front of the church. Pre-K Parents please make sure to pull up to the Student Drop Off Ends Here sign so other cars can move in behind you. Our staff on duty will assist in making sure your children arrive safely to their classrooms.
Once you have dropped off your child/children please do not cut out of lane instead wait until the car in front of you moves to exit the campus. When exiting please be mindful that cars may turn in front of you to drop off at preschool or to exit the campus.
CAR LINE TIPS FOR PICK-UP
Form 2 lanes. In the interest of safety for your child/children and others:
Children will not be permitted to enter a car until the car is in front of the auditorium. Please pull all the way up to the "Drop off ends here" sign even if your child is standing in another place.
If one of the car lanes is moving, children must wait until the cars stop moving before going to their car. If you must exit your car to buckle seat belts, we ask that you use the lane closest to the auditorium. Please pick up your child as quickly as possible, being mindful of the extremely long line behind you. We are discouraged from blocking Clifton Avenue.
AM Care and EDP
Morning Care (6:30am-7:30am) and Extended Day Program (EDP) is available. If you are interested in either of these programs, please be sure to visit the website to get all the information you need. This is also where you can register your child for the programs.
