Announcements
Hannaford Bloomin’ For Good
Looking for flowers? For the entire month of February, the Rowe PTO will receive $1 for every specially marked Bloomin’ 4 Good bouquet purchased at the Riverside Hannaford (787 Riverside). Make someone’s day a little brighter with a bouquet, AND help our organization!
Calendar Raffle Donations
The Rowe PTO’s Annual Calendar Raffle is coming up in April! This is one of the PTO’s major fundraisers for the year that helps fund field trips and classroom supplies. Look for a packet coming home with your student next month that highlights the offerings and how to buy tickets.
There’s still time to contribute - we are looking for restaurant gift certificates, event tickets, and more. If you have a connection to a local business, please contact Ashley Eiler (vicepresident@roweschoolpto.org) if you would like to donate something.
Your Donations at Work
Thanks to our generous community, students have been wearing clean and dry warm socks and keeping their ears and hands warm with the addition of new hats and gloves. Moving forward, we have an exciting new partnership with Miss Di’s Closet to keep our students properly dressed for Maine’s weather. A brand new closet was built in the school that will be supported by Miss Di’s Closet organization. You can find more information about Miss Di's Closet here.
The PTO spread “Kindness” to the students with some glow sticks for the talent show and Kindness to our amazing staff with a special afternoon snack during their all staff meeting on Wednesday. We love showering our staff with extra snacks and treats throughout the school year!
Classroom Library Wishlists - STILL LIVE!
Your purchases through Print: A Bookstore resulted in almost $400 in store credit for the PTO! We’re going to use that credit to add one or two more books to each classroom library from their wish lists.
The wish lists will remain live for the rest of the school year. You may not have had a chance during the busy holiday season to check them out, but we encourage you to do so now. Simply choose “curbside pickup” at checkout and we’ll do the rest!
Let’s keep fulfilling those wish lists!

Portland Public Schools Budget Season
Thank you to everyone who attended the public comment portion of the school board meeting last week. The Rowe community turned out with overwhelming support for our students, teachers, and staff, and the effort did not go unnoticed. We have heard directly from community members who were moved by the outpouring of support; and from other PTOs and administrators in the district who are motivated by our effort and are working to engage their own communities.
There is a tremendous amount of information concerning this year’s budget process. As such, we have updated our website with a Community Involvement section. We will continue to send emails around specific dates, or needs, but please consider the website the main source of information about this process and to find out how you can be involved.
