Hello Quantum Families,
It’s week three of the 24-25 school year and we are going strong! We had a fun Olympics week last week and are giving out medals at our Friday morning assembly. This week, we are going into our first round of Genius Hour. Please ask your Quark what they are planning this week as they go through the Genius Hour design process. We also continue with iReady testing so make sure your Quark gets lots of sleep and has a healthy breakfast in the morning. As a reminder, all students need to bring their iPads fully charged to school every day.
September is Attendance Awareness Month! Students miss critical learning time in class and out on the playground when they miss school. Missing just 2 days a month can have a negative impact on a student’s success. When students miss 2 days a month, they miss 30 hours of math and 60 hours of reading and writing over the year. If this pattern continues, students will miss over one year of school by the time they graduate high school. At Quantum, many of our project-based learning experiences involve group work and when students are absent, other students are negatively impacted too. Most importantly, every Quark is a valued member of our community and we miss students when they are not here! Every day counts!
