Honor Roll
The Honor Roll Program recognizes students in grades 6-12 who are achieving academic excellence and improvement with positive, tangible incentives. Honor Roll encourages all students, teachers, support staff, parents, businesses, and the community to work together to hold the pursuit of academic excellence as a priority. We encourage all students to work hard so that they can participate in the program, feel pride and satisfaction in their accomplishments, and realize goals. It is a school-wide concept and an attitude.
The Honor Roll Program recognizes student achievement on a semester basis. Students can qualify in one of three categories:
Principal’s Honor Roll 3.5 – 4.5 GPA
Honor Roll 3.0 – 3.49 GPANational Honor Society
Students in grades 10–12 who meet the requirements for membership outlined by their school’s chapter are eligible to be invited for membership.
Each chapter is required to publish its qualifications for membership, which is based on the four pillars of NHS:
Scholarship
Per national guidelines, at a minimum, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent standard of excellence.Service
This involves voluntary contributions made by a student to the school or community, done without compensation.Leadership
Student leaders are those who are resourceful, good problem solvers, and idea contributors. Leadership experiences can be drawn from school or community activities while working with or for others.Character
The student of good character is cooperative; demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability; shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others; and generally maintains a clean disciplinary record.
Students who meet the scholarship requirement will have an opportunity to complete a form detailing their accomplishments in and commitment to service, leadership, and character
Perfect Attendance Awards
Students are recognized by semester, and yearly for perfect attendance. Perfect attendance means ZERO absences. If a student has a prior absence, they may still be recognized in upcoming months if they have perfect attendance during that current month. Semester and yearly recognition require perfect attendance during these time periods.
