Our Ferson Creek students did an amazing job recognizing our veterans on Monday. This year, we welcomed 14 veterans for our assembly. Our students sang songs, including the Armed Forces Medley, which recognizes each branch of the military. We also had four students participate in a skit that taught us more about what a veteran is. You can watch the skit here! Our performers, Joey, Tanner, Evelyn L., and Evelyn S. did an amazing job! Mrs. Ignoffo put together a wonderful video highlighting all of the veterans within our Ferson families. A big thank you to Cub Scout Pack 165 and Girl Scout Troop 746 for leading the flag ceremony during the assembly. Mrs. William, our band director, closed out our assembly with the playing of Taps. Below are some pictures from the assembly. We are so honored to celebrate Veterans Day with veterans who are important to our students.

Below are the students who have won the Ferson Creek Kindness Award so far this year. We are excited to continue to acknowledge our Ferson students for showing kindness and following the Ferson Way throughout their school day!

Do you have an amazing joke you would love to share with the school? The main office is accepting online submissions for the "Joke of the Day" which we share each day at dismissal time! We look forward to your submissions.

The Salvation Army’s annual Jim Wheeler Toys for Kids program is

again in full swing. This program collects and distributes toys for

the needy boys and girls of the Tri-City area. The program is named

in honor of the late Jim Wheeler who was the creator and driver

behind this effort.

Once again, we are asking for your support of this program for

children at Christmas time. We are looking for new, unwrapped toys

and games and also will be accepting monetary contributions and

gift cards to help make this Christmas a very special one. This

program has had great success in the past due to your support.

In the past, you have helped us by adding new and unwrapped toys

to our toy collection boxes at your school. The items you provided

made so many families happy.

Thanks so much for your consideration!

We have many lost and found items still unclaimed! Please pick up any lost items by Thanksgiving Break. Any items remaining after that time will be donated!

District 303 is proud to partner with the Glenbard Parent Series (GPS) to offer our families broader access to information sessions and resources that support their child’s development.

For decades, GPS has been offering free programs that aim to empower and strengthen families, individuals and communities. As a partner organization, District 303 will support promoting upcoming programs and their importance to our local community.

• Please leave your name, your child's name, phone number, reason for absence and your child's symptoms if ill.
• If you have advance notice of an absence please fill out our prearranged absence form, inform your child's teacher and submit the completed form to the front office. You are allowed up to 5 prearranged absences per school year.

Our parent volunteers are an integral part of our school community. Therefore, we'd love to invite you to spend time with Ferson Creek students during lunch and lunch recess.

Please keep in mind that it is important to keep our students, staff members, and volunteers safe while they are in our schools. Given that, all volunteers must:

• Have your ID ready and sign in at the office to receive your visitor badge.
• EACH YEAR complete a Volunteer Liability Form. If the school does not have one on file for you and you do not provide one, the office will provide one for you when you come for your first day as a volunteer.
