Course Registration for the 2024-2025 School Year
Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are beginning the course selection process for next school year’s courses. Registration information is being provided to students starting Wednesday, January 17th.
Each grade level is assigned a registration week. A full calendar of details is below.
Here is what parents/guardians must know:
Every student is assigned a mandatory appointment time (with their school counselor) during their registration week. These appointments cannot be rescheduled. This is the student’s opportunity to receive valuable information in addition to individualized help with their course selection.
Registration is due on the Friday of the students’ registration week. Students should come to their appointment prepared with questions.
Additional details, along with a reminder of appointment times, will be sent via email to families the Sunday prior to their child’s registration week. If you have any immediate questions, please contact the Guidance Office at (319)688-1053.
Congratulations to the cast and crew list for the spring musical The Secret Garden!

The Iowa City Mountain Bike Club is back for our second season. We are a FREE youth mountain bike team for ages 8-18. The team is led by Caleb Wilson, Nate Kullbom, and Brian Brandsmeier. Our goal is to help youth have fun, practice skills, build self-confidence, and race bikes. Last year we had a blast. Plus the team got 2nd at State. This year we are already gearing up for an even better season. Practices will start in April. They will be once a week on Thursday evenings at 6:00PM at the Woodpecker Single Track trails or Sugar Bottom Trails. Races start on May 18th and go through June 29th. If you know any youth who might be interested, please let them know about us. And if anyone wants to join but needs a bike or helmet, we can help explore options. Questions can be directed at us via email: ICmtbclub@gmail.com. Registration can be found at this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeLF2pNLpGA7MrCUKTcddNJljUUZ1a9rimP96gwfkxEo1M1Dw/viewform
Technology Survey
Technology continues to evolve and play a key role in learning. One recent emerging technology claiming to transform education is artificial intelligence (AI). As the district explores both the potential and pitfalls of AI, we wanted to gain your insights. The questions within the survey will help us better understand your knowledge of AI, what concerns you may have, as well as what hunches you have about its ability to enhance student learning. In addition, your expertise will assist in the creation of guidelines for both teachers and students as they use artificial intelligence in the classroom. Your anonymous feedback will play a crucial role in ensuring artificial intelligence is not only accessible but used responsibly and effectively to enrich student learning experiences. We greatly appreciate your time and thoughtful responses to the probing questions.
