Winter Weather Resources
As winter weather approaches, we know the possibility exists that our district will need to implement Virtual Learning Days. Our EdTech team has put together some resources to help prepare you for that circumstance. Check out the links below to learn more about the district's expectations for teachers, how to use Zoom, and lesson ideas for virtual learning.
Canvas Winter Break Rollover
If you have S1 and S2 sections of your course in Canvas, you'll need to switch to the S2 courses after break. The first step will be to crosslist (combine) all your S2 sections. Don't crosslist your S2 sections with your S1 sections because grade syncing won't work. If you don't sync grades from Canvas to Infinite Campus, do it how you want! 🙂
Click here to view the crosslisting tutorial in the MPS Teacher Passport course. If you're not enrolled in Passport course, click here to enroll.
Then, depending on your preference, you can copy all your content from S1 and pick up where you left off, you can copy selected content, or you can just copy your homepage and start fresh. Tutorials for each option are listed below. You can also find them on the homepage of the MPS Passport Course:
Canvas External Tool Bug
There is a known issue with some external tool assignments (connecting content from a textbook platform to your Canvas assignment) that is causing the instructions you write in Canvas to be overwritten. To avoid this, connect the external tool content first and then go back and add the title and instructions to the Canvas assignment.
Incident IQ - My Classes
If you have students in your class who are experiencing an issue with their device, you can now use the MY CLASSES feature inside Incident IQ to submit a ticket on behalf of the student. This is all done based on rostering in Infinite Campus, so only teachers with rostered sections are going to be able to see MY CLASSES.
Submitting Tickets Through My Classes
The My Classes feature in Incident IQ allows you to access your class rosters based on information pulled from IC. This not only allows you to see your entire selection of classes and class rosters, but also allows you to submit devices on behalf of students quickly.
You can quickly identify and submit tickets for students through a class roster. To begin, you will need to click on My Classes.
On the next page, you will need to select the class of the student you want to submit a ticket for.
From the class roster page, you can choose the student needing assistance, and then submit a ticket by clicking on the Submit Ticket.
This will open up a new window to choose the issue the student is experiencing and complete the ticket submission process.
To login to IIQ, visit https://moore.incidentiq.com/. Be sure to bookmark it for easy access later! We also have a link available in your Clever portal.

Lightspeed Classroom Resources for Teachers
Teachers are able to monitor their students’ laptops/Chromebooks while they are in class by using Lightspeed Classroom. Lightspeed Classroom allows teachers to view what websites students are browsing on their devices, block or allow specific websites, send teacher's computer display out to student devices all at once, as well as many other amazing features.
Teachers can access a link to Lightspeed Classroom through their Clever portal or by using the URL https://login.lightspeedsystems.app/.

Empowering Parents to play a key role in promoting responsible digital citizenship and online safety.
All MPS parents will be automatically enrolled in
Lightspeed Parent Portal starting October 1st.
- Parents/Guardians are emailed a Weekly Student Online Activity Report keeping them informed with a summary of their child’s web activity and key stats for the week.
- Parents/Guardians can log into their Parent Portal account to view real-time web activity, so they can easily stay informed and take action.
- Parents/Guardians can allow, restrict, or block after-school access to YouTube, social media, and social networking websites on the students' school-issued device.
- Parents/Guardians can control screen time by temporarily pausing web browsing on a school-issued device while student is at-home or outside-of-school hours for either 1 hour, 3 hours, or until the next morning.
