Principal's Message
Dear ALES Families,
Happy New Year and welcome back to school! Your ALES family is so excited to greet students back as we kick off the 2025 school year. We hope you had a safe, relaxing winter break filled with meaningful memories spent with friends and family. Now, as we return to our routines, we look forward to the opportunities and successes that await us in the months ahead.
As we continue to build upon our school improvement goals, we remain focused on increasing academic achievement in Literacy, Math, and School Attendance. These key areas are essential for our students' success, and we encourage all families to support these efforts by staying engaged with school activities and reinforcing the importance of learning at home. Every day counts, and we are committed to helping each student reach their fullest potential.
A quick reminder that school starts promptly at 8:00 AM. Instruction begins right away, so please ensure your child arrives on time to start the day with their classmates. With the colder weather upon us, please remember to dress your child warmly for outdoor recess and the walk to school. Frigid temperatures are in the forecast, and it's important to be prepared for the elements.
Additionally, if snow falls, students are required to have snow pants and snow boots in order to play in the snow during recess. This ensures they stay warm and dry while enjoying outdoor activities.
At ALES, we continue to emphasize our core values, which guide our actions both inside and outside of the classroom. These values are simple but powerful:
- Respect Yourself
- Respect Others
- Respect the Environment
We also continue to follow our Keys of Excellence. For the month of January, our focus is on Commitment.
By practicing these values, we foster a positive, safe, and inclusive community where everyone can thrive. We encourage all families to support and reinforce these principles at home as well.
We are looking forward to a successful and fulfilling second half of the school year. Thank you for your continued partnership and support. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Wishing you a wonderful start to the new year!
Kindest Regards,
Marilynn (Smith) Jankovich
Principal
