Liberty Library

Congratulations to Left on Read, Liberty's first book battle team. This scrappy team fought for their spot at the state tournament in Marshalltown then continued to place as state runner up.

Thanks to Hills Bank and the Foundation for the Iowa City Community School District for bringing national bestselling author Samira Ahmed to the Iowa City high schools. Many students attended the presentations where Ahmed discussed her books and answered questions about writing.

Stop by the Liberty Library to see some of the 1984 dioramas that student in English 10 Honors created. Big Brother is watching these Peeps.

During April, we had 4,052 students check into the Liberty Library. Currently, 9th grade students are finishing up QUEST and 10th grade students are working on a graphic novel unit. The school year will wrap up before we know it.

Students can get a jump on next year's reading by pick up one of the Iowa High School Book Award books. Next winter we will have a book bowl featuring these books. Stop by the library for more information or click here.
