Superintendent's Message
Loveland Tiger Families,
We wrapped up “Grandparents and Great Influences” events this week, with Loveland Early Childhood Center hosting over 600 people during three mornings of celebrations. This is year two of us opening our doors for a celebration of grandparents and the other great influences in the lives of our students. I hope your students had a chance to experience special moments with special people over the last month. More than 3,500 people took part in the celebrations district-wide!
I want to thank our staff for helping make the “Grandparents and Great Influences” events special. I appreciate their extra work during an already busy time of year. It’s all worth it because we helped make special memories for families and strengthened the relationships that are part of our #beLOVEland spirit.
I hope you all have a wonderful Winter Break filled with fun, family, and celebration!

The Loveland High School Hope Squad will host its 3rd annual Mental Health Awareness Basketball Games on Tuesday, January 21 (Boys vs. Walnut Hills) and Thursday, January 23 (Girls vs. Winton Woods). Local organizations will be at the games to share important mental health resources with our community. They are asking all fans to wear purple and teal to the games, and they are again selling t-shirts supporting suicide prevention and mental health awareness.
If you would like to buy a t-shirt, below is the information from RP Diamond on how to purchase the shirts. There are adult and youth sizes.

Science and Innovation Expo
This year, Loveland will host our first-ever Science and Innovation Expo! The event will take place on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, from 9 am to 12 pm at Loveland High School. This day is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the amazing learning that happens around Loveland! The Science and Innovation Expo is a one-day event that gives students two pathways to choose from: a Science Expo and an Innovation Expo.
For more information about each pathway, click here to watch a video or read the brief description below:
Here is more information about each pathway:
The Science Expo is a traditional science fair where students have the opportunity to conduct a scientific research project or engineering design project and present their findings to their peers and community judges, with the opportunity to qualify for Regional Science Day at the University of Cincinnati, called the Science and Engineering Expo. If students achieve well at UC, they have the opportunity to qualify for State Science Day at Ohio State University. This pathway is open to students in grades 5-12 who can present individually or in groups of up to three.
The Innovation Expo is an open-ended opportunity for students to identify a problem and solve it with something they will create or to simply create and share something creative, inventive, or innovative. Some ideas may be a DIY craft, coding/computer science project, an engineering creation, or anything else in which your child creates something to share! This pathway is open to all students grades PreK-12, and community judges will provide informal feedback about the strengths of each project, as well as areas to grow. Students can participate individually or in groups of up to three.
To learn more details about the event, how to submit a project, project ideas, and project requirements, visit Loveland's website at https://lovelandschools.org/expo.
For any questions, please reach out to innovation@lovelandschools.org. We hope to see you on February 1st!
