Family Communication

Hello Otter families,

Can you believe it, we have already reached the end of January. February is a short but eventful month, so please stay up-to-date by checking the Smore each week.

We want to thank all of the phenomenal volunteers who spent Thursday and Friday helping with field day. All of our Otters had an amazing time. Seeing the students smile and laugh and enjoy the fun competitive activities was bucket filling. We cannot do these large events without the support from our school community.

🦦 In Otter News 🦦

Otter Ball

The PTA is bringing back the popular annual event, Otter Ball. It has been scheduled for Friday, February 9th from 6-8pm. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday 1/31 through Rycor! This will be a ticketed event with limited attendance. We encourage everyone to review document can be found here to get further details to the event. Please reach out to the PTA with any questions.

📖Overdue Library Books 📖

Overdue media notices for library books will be coming home this week. Please help your child locate their missing books and returned to the media center so they can be enjoyed by other readers. If you are unable to find the book, please send cash, make a check out to Oakstead Elementary, or utilize Rycor by selecting "Lost Media Book" so that it can be replaced as soon as possible.

April and May 2024 Testing Dates

The calendar linked below displays the tentative dates we have assigned for grades 3-5 state testing. We highly encourage you to mark these on your calendar now to ensure your child attends on their assigned testing day. We do not anticipate these dates changing unless we receive directives from the state or district offices.

Grade 5 Writing assessment has been moved to 4/2/2024.

Our amazing counseling team has organized our February Kindness Campaign to include some themed dress up days, as well as a Random Acts of Kindness Challenge.
