π£ Weekly Announcements & Reminders π
February has sure been busy! I hope you all tuned in to see our 7/8th graders sing with the Texas Conference Junior High Music Festival this past Sabbath. They sounded beautiful! BAS is proud of our hardworking, well-behaved, and talented young people. If you missed the performance, check it out here: TexasAdventist YouTube
Reminders:
- Jewelry is not allowed on campus. This includes earrings, necklaces, rings, and bracelets. Students are allowed one silicone motivational wristband.
- Dress Code: Skirts, Skorts and shorts must be AT or NEAR the knee. The 'fingertip rule" is not the rule. See our student handbook if you have questions. Please make sure your student is leaving the house with appropriate clothing. Students will be required to change if needed.
- Illness: Please remember to not send your student to school unless they've been fever free for 24 hours without medication. If they still have major symptoms, we encourage you to also keep them until they are better. Please notify the office and/or your student's teacher if they will be missing school.
"I will praise God's name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving" ~ Psalm 69:30
Mind Games Competition February 26
We have two teams of students who will be participating in an event called Mind Games hosted by the Texas Conference and Burton Adventist Academy. Our two teams, one elementary, grades 3-5th and one Junior High, grades 6-8th, will be competing against fellow schools. The categories include science, math, history, and adventist history. You can go to https://burtonacademy.org/mindgamestxc for more information and to watch live!
BAS Walkathon!
BAS will be running a school-wide Walk-a-Thon this year!
This is an important fundraiser in which funds will be collected towards a new playground!
This year it will be held during the school day and on school grounds, so all students can easily participate. A ΒΌ mile course will be set up on-site. We also need volunteers! Let our office know if youβd like to be on campus that day to help facilitate the event and encourage our students!
Be thinking of family and friends whom you can connect with to help sponsor your child(ren).
You will receive a packet that includes a Participant Registration Form that must be signed by parent/guardian, a Walk-a-thon mailer to send to those far away friends & family, and a sponsor list to keep track of who is willing to sponsor your child(ren)!
Help Add Photos to our Yearbook!
If you take photos at any of our events please help us fill out our yearbook! We especially need photos of your students playing our club sports, photos of field trips, and photos of choir performances! You can submit photos online here: https://photos.jostens.com/EYDYJX
