- Masks that cover the entire face may only be worn during the parade (please no "scary" masks for school).
- Please refrain from any fake weapons or props, scary masks, and/or inappropriate costumes that may cause fear for children.
- We are also asking that students not wear fake blood, and/or make-up that may be a distraction.
Halloween Parade:
When: Thursday, Oct. 31st from 2:00-2:30 pm
Please feel free to join us in front of the school on the sidewalk (*If it is raining, it will be canceled). Classroom Volunteers will need to complete our Volunteer Procedure on the D47 website.
We appreciate your cooperation in making this day fun and safe for our students!

Help-A-Husky @ North
The holiday season is approaching and we are starting to collect donations in support of our North families in need. As always, we will be accepting gift card donations, which in the past have included gift cards for gas stations, grocery stores, big-box stores, restaurants, online retailers, and home improvement stores. All gift card donations should be dropped off in the main office. If you are interested in supporting a family in need this holiday season or donating items other than gift cards, please contact our social workers, Amanda Wood (awood@d47.org) or Valerie Skala (vskala@d47.org) for more information. No matter the donation, we are appreciative of the support for our North Community. We hope you have an awesome holiday season! Donations of gift cards, food, etc., are accepted throughout the school year. Thank you!

Let's stock the lounge!
We know that finding the time to drop items off at school at a specific time can be difficult. We are going to try something new in hopes that it allows everyone that has wanted to donate in the past but couldn't, the opportunity to do so! Here is a link to an Amazon wishlist for Stock the Lounge items! You may have the items shipped to the address on the wishlist and we will bring your items to school at the drop off time for you!
Please feel free to send any other items you may wish to send via the link below.
As always you are welcome to drop your donations off in the office at school on
Monday, October 28th at 9 A.M.
Thank you for all of your generosity!
Garden Club
The Garden Club would like to welcome everyone to join in on the fruits of our labor!!! The remaining meetings will be every other Tuesday in October at 3:30pm (10/01, 10/15,10/29)! The Garden Club here at North Elementary is an afterschool program meeting twice a month during the regular growing season. Students need to have an adult present with them when attending though it is led by parent volunteers. The Club meets at the school garden in the courtyard area located on the west side of the building near the fifth grade playground and off the back end of the school parking lot. Meetings go anywhere from half an hour to an hour depending on the needs at the time. The goal is to give access to any student that would benefit from working in the soil, learning about gardening/farming, hands-on experience with where food comes from and being outside in our community. Please email us at northgardencl@gmail.com to be added to the email/newsletter list for up to date info and directions.
Book Fair
Mark your calendars! The Anderson Book Fair will take place from November 6th to November 7th at North Elementary, running from 3:45 to 6:30 PM each day. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to explore new books and ignite their love for reading!
Stay tuned for the volunteer sign-up coming next week. We appreciate your support in making this event a success!
Book Room
We’re excited to invite anyone to join the Book Room Committee. Our team collects and organizes guided reading books into their respective bins, and with more activity ramping up as guided reading starts in mid-October, we would love the behind the scenes volunteer support. Keep an eye out for details on how to join our team!
Reminders!
Want to volunteer at North this year? Don’t forget to fill out the Raptor Volunteer Form! It’s quick and easy, and it’s required for all volunteers. We can’t wait to see you around school!
Fill out the form here: Raptor Volunteer Form
As cooler weather approaches, we want to remind parents to please label your child’s sweatshirts, jackets, and other belongings. This helps ensure that misplaced items can be returned to their owners quickly. Also, don’t forget to check the lost and found regularly for any missing items. Thank you for helping us keep our lost and found as empty as possible!
