February RFHS Wildcats Newsletter

February 14, 2025
Message from the Principal
Greetings Wildcat Students and Families,
While one can expect illnesses among the student and staff population each school year, this year has seemed especially unforgiving! We've seen a lot of flu, upper respiratory infections, viruses, and strep throat. If your child contracts a communicable illness, please try to obtain a medical note excusing your student from school. We don't want anyone to run out of their authorized "illness days" (4 per semester) or "parent pre-arranged days" (10 per school year) as outlined in the RFHS Absence Categories. "Medically excused" absences do not count toward your student's excused days.
Also, remember to submit an absence notification on Infinite Campus (one per child) or call the Attendance Line to prevent your student from receiving an "unexcused" absence. Please note, students are limited to 4 unexcused absences each semester, once they receive 5, a Truancy citation is issued. (Note: Students will be assigned a one hour detention for each unexcused absence they accrue. Students absent 15 minutes or more without an excuse are considered unexcused.)
As we navigate through the 3rd term, we ask students to maintain focus and keep forging ahead through the school year. With four weeks left until spring break, ensure you are setting specific academic goals, establishing a consistent routine to meet those goals, managing time, and persevering through the challenges! We want to see all our Wildcats succeed!
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask. Have a great weekend, Wildcats!
Best regards,
RFHS Administrative Team
Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Monday, February 24th from 4:30pm - 7:00pm. As the date approaches, a "PTC Information Sheet" link will be emailed to parents listing the locations of your student's teachers, breakout sessions available, and other academic/collegic resources that will be available. Most teachers will have a table set up in the commons, some will be located in specific rooms.
Please take into consideration that not all teachers will be availble the duration of the scheduled conference timeframe. You may always email a teacher with any questions or concerns you have should they not be availble when you attend. If you feel the need for a longer conference, please contact that teacher directly.
