Chapin High Career Center
November Newsletter 2024
We kicked off National Career Development Month with the Be Pro Be Proud Truck on Wednesday, November 6th.
The truck, an initiative by the Associated Industries of South Carolina Foundation (AISCF), aims to inspire pride, progress, and a new generation of professionals in South Carolina's skilled workforce.
Over 130 students gained a new perspective in trades like welding, electricity, lineman work, and truck driving.
Thank you to our SENIOR Chapin High CATS students - Andrew Takach, Clinton Bohannon, Rivers Gregg, and Gavin Hall for helping students navigate the different stations.

Consider Job Shadowing!
Chapin High School students are encouraged to explore careers through Job Shadowing once per semester, as approved* by the Career Specialist. Job shadowing is a great opportunity to explore careers and build your network. Complete the D5/CHS Job Shadow Application and submit to the career specialist one week prior to the date of the job shadow. Students must obtain signatures from parent/guardian and teachers prior to being approved and eligible for an excused absence. Please see Mrs. Moseley in the Career Center - Room A 101 for a job shadowing packet.
Ask a staff member!
Research shows that the average person changes careers 5 to 7 times in their lifetime, often shifting fields multiple times. If you're curious about a career, ask someone with firsthand experience!
