Please join us for our annual Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 28. New Family Questions and Answers begin at 6PM in the Roslyn Multipurpose Room with Assistant Principal Gina Weis. Mr. Kirk will be speaking at the K-LAB Classrooms at BHS at 6:00. The 5th Grade Outdoor Education information session (Camp Timber-lee) will be held in the library at 6PM. Were you wondering whether Wednesday Early Dismissal was going away because of our 4 new 10:45 dismissal dates this school year? The answer to that question is "NO". Students will continue to have a 2:10 dismissal on Wednesdays throughout the school year. Teachers will continue to have staff development at that time. The 10:45 Dismissals are scheduled for the following dates:

August 30

September 27

March 20

April 17

TIE DYE Fundraiser

Please purchase your child a t-shirt to support Roslyn’s Annual Tie-Dye Fundraiser! Each year the PTO designs a shirt to go along with Roslyn’s theme for the school year. This year’s theme is “Roll out the Red Carpet for Roslyn Road”. By purchasing a shirt, your child will have the opportunity to tie-dye that shirt during school on Tie Dye Day (Sept 24) and wear it for school spirit throughout the year. It has also become tradition to wear them on Field Day! Purchase your shirt HERE no later than September 2!

Please note that if creating a t-shirt will be a financial concern for your family, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher or to Mr. Kirk at pkirk@barrington220.org.

Meet up with friends on the playground for our annual back to school picnic on Tuesday, September 3 from 5:30-7:30pm! Pizza, chips, and drinks will be available for purchase. Bake Sale will be hosted by the 5th grade and don’t miss special assembly appearance by Tim Hannig- The Pro-Kids Family Night Show at 5:45pm. Tim has performed at Six Flags, the Country Music Association, and twice at the White House!

Help us earn money for our end of the year 5th grade celebration by donating a dozen individually wrapped baked goods to sell at the back to school family picnic on Tuesday, 9/3! Baked goods can either be store bought or homemade but all must be individually wrapped. Please drop off baked goods at the Roslyn Road office (labeled 5th grade bake sale) by 9am on 9/3. Please join us for our 1st PTO meeting of the year, Thursday-September 5, 7pm at Roslyn. Please note that this is a location change. Dr. Winkelman will be joining us to provide a referendum update and answer questions!

Color Portraits, Inc. will be at Roslyn on Thursday, September 12 for Picture Day! Physical order forms will be coming home with students this week. Orders can be placed online prior to Picture Day. Please scan the QR code on the order form or visit ordercp.com and enter Roslyn’s school code, 10039001, to make your selections.

As we start the new year, please consider joining us for Barrington Children’s Charities P.O.P. program (Packs of Plenty), which provides eligible children with a bag full of nutritious food to eat over the weekend. This is a weekly event, but you can volunteer for a single day or become a regular!

Bring your kids on Friday, September 27th for a fun filled day! 20% of all purchases made will go back to the Roslyn PTO! As we adjust to our Back to School schedules and are checking off our to-do lists, please remember to pay your PTO dues. PTO dues can be paid by logging into your Infinite Campus account and clicking on “FEES”. $15/student to help ensure the PTO can provide each and every student with a yearbook to take home on our favorite day of the year- Field Day! It’s that time! Gardening Club is back for a fall session. Members will tend to the Outdoor Learning Classroom (OLC) learning tasks such as weeding, pruning, planting, transplanting, and general yard clean up. All grades are welcome, though grades K-3 seem to enjoy it the most! We will meet on Fridays after school from 2:45-3:30 in the OLC. Cost is $25.00 per student, or $40.00 per family. More specific info and dates listed in sign-up genius. This is a PTO sponsored activity.
