As the first grading period wraps up, we are excited and proud to celebrate how our Brickies are truly making a difference in their own lives as well as the lives of others around them. Through their hard work, dedication, and compassion, they are leaving their mark on the School City of Hobart and paving the way for a brighter future.

This Brickie Experience episode is impactful.

60 Minutes was recently here filming for an upcoming episode. Anderson Cooper was the correspondent! He was fantastic with interviewing our students and putting them at ease before the filming took place.

As we were waiting for the film crew to make some adjustments, Dr. Buffington thanked him for how he talked with the students about what schools he went to and his career pathway. She told him that she should have done a podcast with him. Out of nowhere, Anderson Cooper says, “Let’s do it. How long to set it up?” Chris King, the Director of Technology, says, “One minute!” The next thing we all knew… an impromptu interview with Anderson Cooper on The Brickie Experience is in the books! SCOH Receives $118,000 Grant to Benefit Hobart Infants & Toddlers!

We are thrilled to share some exciting news! School City of Hobart Brickies from the Start has been chosen as a recipient of an Early Years Initiative grant, a funding opportunity led by Early Learning Indiana and generously supported by Lilly Endowment Inc. This grant program aims to enhance the learning and development of infants and toddlers in Hobart, IN.

Through this incredible opportunity, Brickies from the Start will be able to strengthen our efforts in supporting the cognitive, social-emotional and physical wellbeing of the youngest members of our community. Our mission has always been to strengthen families of children from pregnancy until kindergarten entry to help all Hobart children thrive, and this grant aligns perfectly with that commitment.

With this grant, we will be able to expand our program through hiring an infant and toddler specialist who will ensure that all Hobart children, their families and childcare workers, will be equipped with information and resources for developmental screenings and support . Our goal is to make a lasting impact on the lives of our little ones, providing them with a solid foundation for a successful future. We firmly believe that investing in early education and development sets the stage for lifelong learning and success.
