📸 Back to School Picture Day & Chromebook Event 💻
Wednesday, August 7, 2024 @ 9:00am-12:00pm*
We will be holding a Back to School Picture Day & Chromebook Check-Out Event for all students on August 7, 2024 from 9:00am-12:00pm (see below for time slots per grade) in our main gym.
Please see the following details for this event:
- Students will arrive during their slotted time per grade and get their picture taken for the yearbook and student ID, which is required for ALL students to gain access to the building:
- 9:00am-9:45am = 12th Grade
- 9:45am-10:30am = 9th Grade
- 10:30am-11:15am = 10th Grade
- 11:15am-12:00pm = 11th Grade
- Students will enter the main gym from the northeast side door. (Signs will be posted)
- Students that wish to purchase an athletic pass will proceed to the athletic pass table to obtain a ticket for the photographer prior to taking their picture. To expedite this process, please print and complete this athletic pass form and send payment with your student to pay prior to their picture being taken. We accept cash, checks, or credit card.
- If you do not wish to purchase an athletic pass, you will proceed directly to the photographer.
- After picture is taken, the student will go directly to the Chromebook issue/pickup area. Please see below for additional instructions.
- Once these items are complete, the student will exit on the west side door of the main gym.
- Please note:
- Students will NOT be allowed in the rest of the building and tours will not be given during this time.
- BHS will be using the Minga app for student/staff ID's this year. Physical ID's will not be given.
💻 Chromebook issue/pickup during picture day 💻
A significant number of existing BHS students elected to keep their chromebooks over the summer, and all existing BHS students kept their charging cords. If you have both your chromebook and cord, you do not need to visit the chromebook table on picture day. BHS kept careful and accurate records of who took their chromebook with them and verified these records after school ended; if you have questions about your chromebook's status (if it was retained by the school or not), you can email carin.barrett@tsd.org. In terms of other groups,
FRESHMEN: All incoming 9th graders will be issued a new device that they will be responsible for during the tenure of their attendance in TSD; if you still have your chromebook from 8th grade, you must turn it in before you will be issued your new device.
NEW STUDENTS: Students new to TSD will be issued the device they will be responsible for during the tenure of their attendance in TSD, as will students new to BHS but not TSD and who turned in their chromebook before departing their former school.
RETURNING STUDENTS whose chromebooks were retained by BHS over the summer will pick up their devices on picture day, including students whose chromebooks were damaged at the end of the year and were turned in for repair.
All students are expected to bring their fully charged Chromebooks to school on Thursday, August 15th.
Any other issues or questions can also be directed to carin.barrett@tsd.org.
🎫 Purchase Athletic Passes 🎫
Athletic passes will be made available for purchase during the Back to School Picture Day Event on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024 from 9am-12pm (see time slots for each grade level above). To expedite this process, please print and complete this athletic pass form and send payment with your student to pay prior to their picture being taken. We accept credit card, cash, or check.

🚗 BHS Parking Permits 🚙
ALL students that drive to BHS are required to display a parking permit in their vehicle to park on campus. Please register your vehicle at the following link: http://bit.ly/bhspermit or use the QR code posted by the main office for your FREE parking permit (1st=free, if replacement is needed=$2.00/ea.) Once you have completed the form and it has been processed, you will be called to the office to pick up your permit. The permits are good until the student graduates and will be turned in at that time.
Why is this necessary? For the students and staff safety we need information on every vehicle here at the school. Any vehicle without a permit or who is parked in violation of other school rules or laws may receive a Parking Violation from BHS. First offense is a $20.00 fine and fines go up for second and third violations. Payment must be made to the school’s Bookkeeping Office within 14 days after receiving the violation. Continual violations or a serious violation may result in loss of parking privileges at BHS. If you have any questions, please speak with SRO Deputy, Vince Mosley or Campus Security
🍎 2024 - 2025 Meal Application Information 🍏
For the 2024/25 school year, the Thompson School District will provide access to no-cost meals for all students through the Healthy School Meals for All program.
Research shows students perform better at school when they are not hungry. By providing access to breakfast and lunch for all students at no cost, we better support their learning.
Although all students will receive access to no-cost meals, it's still important for households to provide their income information when requested. Gathering this information allows the Thompson School District to receive the state and federal funding we qualify for. These funds go directly to schools to help cover the cost of meals and support after-school activities and other nutritional programs for students. Plus, qualifying households may be eligible for Summer EBT benefits, receive discounted or waived school fees, class materials, utilities support, and more. Providing household income information ensures you and your school receive all available financial support.
The attachments contain more information and forms to provide your household income information. While the following pages may reference eligibility for free or reduced-price school meals, access to breakfast and lunch will be provided free to all students regardless of household income.
Our school meals follow U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines for healthy school meals. You can be confident your children are getting quality school meals while saving your family time and money.
For information on how to apply, please read the attached letter.

Estimados padres/tutores:
