2024-25 Bobcat Bulletin
August 27th, 2024

May 31, 2025
A message from Mrs. Britton!
What an incredible day we had yesterday. It felt like a nail biter for me all week watching the radar and tracking the weather patterns. I think I may have earned an honorary degree in meteorology this springโif not for accuracy, then definitely for weather worry! As always, Mr. Frankโs Famous Field Day did not disappoint. The day was absolutely amazing. The weather worked out perfectly, and the students had an absolute blast. I even saw a few parents getting in on the fun with games like tug of war.
A huge thank you to Mr. Frank and Mrs. Lieberman for making the day such a success. And thank you to all of our middle school Spartans and Penncrest alumni who returned to volunteer. It is a truly meaningful gesture and a testament to the strong connections formed here. As I approach my own sonโs high school graduation this week, I have found myself seeing more and more sentimental stories about graduation. One in particular showed a school where graduating seniors return to meet the incoming first graders. It made me realize that this tradition is already alive and well at Indian Lane. Our younger students look up to the older ones and think, One day I will help Mr. Frank on Field Day. And our older students get one more joyful day to be a Bobcat. Another parent shared a similar story she had seen where older students return to their elementary school to relive the fun. Mr. Frank is clearly ahead of the trend. It is always a great day to be a Bobcat, but yesterday was certainly one of the best.
As we celebrate the success of Field Day, we are already looking ahead to our next big event, Run the Lane. This annual tradition brings our community together once again for a morning filled with energy, spirit, and school pride in honor of Mr. Norm Kelly. In order to make it a success, we are looking for volunteers. Whether you have an hour or the whole morning, your support makes all the difference.
We are currently running a little light on water bottle donations and volunteers to help the morning of the event. Please consider helping out on Saturday. Your support would be greatly appreciated. If you are able to volunteer, please sign up using the link below. We would love to have you join us.

As we continue celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Indian Lane proudly honors the vibrant cultures, histories, and contributions of these communities. These displays are part of our broader recognition of this important month and offer students and families a meaningful way to engage with the rich diversity of the region. In this edition of the Bobcat Bulletin, you will also find a selection of read-alouds you can share at home to spark thoughtful conversations and deepen appreciation for Asian and Pacific Islander heritage.

Here's a quick reminder about the district's Lice Management Plan. Updated guidance for parents about head lice was recently published by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Click the link for everything you need to know about finding them and treating them.
Get in the habit of checking your student every couple of weeks and remind them not to share hats or put their heads together with other students. As always feel free to call the nurse's office if you have any questions.
