Options parents held their first Parent Cooperative meeting on Tuesday, May 21st. It was a huge success with great conversations and exchange of ideas . The mission of this group is to cultivate a thriving community of parents dedicated to empowering one another through shared knowledge, resources and encouragement. Watch for an invitation to the Parent Cooperative Facebook page (independent from the Reardan School District) coming soon.
Unsure what curriculum to use next year? Options Curriculum Open House with coffee and conversation will be held on May 31st in the Options Classroom. This is a chance for guardians of Options students to come in to review curriculum for the 24-25 school year.

We wrapped up state testing for this year (Yay!) and have completed our May PBIS field trips. Our 7th grade students had an amazing day at EWU, touring campus and participating in a high ropes course. This was a great adventure and one they will not soon forget. Our 8th graders spent Thursday at Silverwood and also had a wonderful day riding roller coasters and celebrating their positive behavior choices this year. Thank you to Mrs. Vesnesk for organizing these events for our students.
Mrs. Hamilton’s students are working on sewing projects and showing some amazing creativity. We are one of the few schools that offer this type of Life Skills instruction and are so grateful for Mrs. Hamilton’s patience and hard work teaching our 7th graders to cook and sew along with all of the other important life skills. We also want to congratulate Ruby Sprecher and Tyler Winn as they compete in Junior Rodeo at the state level.
Health Update - Nurse Landt
Dear Middle and High School Parents,
As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive health education, we are required to include instruction on HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness in our curriculum. This education is mandatory in Washington State for all middle/high school students and is designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being. We understand the sensitivity of this topic and are dedicated to delivering this information in a respectful and age-appropriate manner. We also recognize that families may have individual beliefs and preferences regarding this subject matter. If you wish for your child to opt out of the HIV/AIDS education component, please complete this opt out form and return to your child's teacher by 5/29/24.

We will be completing this education May 30th and the week of June 3rd. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring that all students receive the necessary tools to lead healthy lives.
