School Year Launch

Dear Hawley Parents/Guardians, Teachers & Staff,

Summer was fantastic! The start of a new school year is even more exciting. I love when Teachers, Staff, Parents and Students return. That is what makes our Building, a School.

There is energy that comes from The Return. So many smiles and happy faces.

Here is a small taste of how this week has gone...

All Teachers and Staff returned on Monday for Convocation. The entire District honored Newtown's Teacher of the Year.

Oh, by the way, it was Hawley's own Anne Fries!!!

Before school even started, our PTA held a special event for our youngest and newest students. Popsicles on the Playground is a wonderful time where incoming Kindergarten students come to our playground for a Popsicle and to play with new classmates. Families also have the opportunity to get to know each other.

The Kindergarten Bus Run is such a special event. The day before school starts, the buses pick up only Kindergarten Students. They get an exclusive ride to Hawley and get to meet their teachers and play with classmates.
