Tiger Tech Corner
Who and What are the Tiger Techs?
Each new S'More will introduce you to some of Tiger Techs. They will share some tech information, tips, and tricks!
Kathryn Tryon
My name is Kathryn Tryon, I am 13 almost 14
years old. I am in 8th grade. I like sleeping,
helping others, and spending time with friends and
family. Some of my hobbies are playing volleyball
and going for walks/bike rides. I became a tiger
tech because I want to be a role model to younger
children. I also was told that I would regret not
becoming a tiger tech because anyone I know that
has become one has loved it.
Amahlah Dorceus
HI my name is Amahlah Dorceus. I am an 8th grader at FDR Middle school. I like playing softball, texting my friends, and watching Youtube. I became a Tiger Tech because I like helping others. People are always asking me for help with assignments they don’t understand or issues they have, so being a Tiger Tech just made sense. I hope during this confusing school year I can help you out as best as possible with all your tech related needs.
Jennifer Rivera Velez
Hey! My name is Jennifer (you can call me Jen or Jenny if you want). I’m currently in 8th grade. I love traveling and writing. One of my favorite things to do is helping people, just the thought of helping others makes me happy. I’m really goofy, I like playing volleyball and I speak fluent Spanish. I became a tiger tech because I love to help people out. Well, I think that’s about it!

FDR Will Transition to Using Canvas as a Learning Management System
What is Canvas?
Canvas is a web-based learning management system, or LMS. It is used by learning institutions, educators, and students to access and manage online course learning materials and communicate about skill development and learning achievement.
Canvas includes a variety of customizable course creation and management tools, course and user analytics and statistics, and internal communication tools.
Your child's teachers will transition from Google Classroom to Canvas over the next two marking periods. Your child's teacher will guide your child and show them how to use and access Canvas.
We at FDR will provide support for teachers, students , and parents, to ensure that all are informed and able to access Canvas.
BTSD Secondary Schools will use Canvas to help support students manage their online and in person learning. It will eventually replace our Google Classrooms. It provides for more organized manner of connecting with students. It is also used by many colleges, universities, and institutions. Please watch this introduction to Canvas for Parents video for more information:

Student Information
1- Make sure students are going to the Bristol Canvas site: https://btsd.instructure.com/login/canvas
2- It says that your username is your email
3-If your Google password does not work- select Forgot password
Teachers must make the course live/publish for students to see them in their dashboard.
