ExCel Award Winners
The ExCEL Award – Excellence in Community, Education and Leadership – is a unique recognition program designed exclusively for Minnesota high school juniors who are active in school activities, leaders in their schools, and who demonstrate a strong commitment to community service. Congratulations to Jack Bauer and Indira Sivaraj for being our nominees from Elk River High School!
School Board Leadership Awards
Congratulations to Kari Pederson and Lucas Dahlberg for their school board leadership awards!
Lucas Dahlberg
Lucas is a dedicated leader at ERHS and in the community. As Executive Director of the News Team and DECA Director of the Online Store, Lucas has also earned recognition as a Back 2 Business Competition winner. A two-year Student Council Ambassador, he actively contributes to school initiatives.
In the football program, Lucas serves as Varsity Operations Manager and Director of Gameday Entertainment, overseeing logistics, leading the management team, and coordinating gameday experiences to create a top-tier atmosphere.
At the Furniture and Things Community Event Center, Lucas is Senior Coordinator of Event Experience, mentoring a team of students and managing events like ERHS/ISD 728 hockey. He also announces and manages entertainment for multiple sports, including baseball and lacrosse.
Committed to community impact, Lucas aims to make a positive difference through all his roles.
Kari Pederson
Kari is an accomplished student leader dedicated to making a positive impact on her school and community.
As President of the National Honor Society (NHS) during her junior and senior years, Kari organizes group projects and delivers inspiring speeches. Her leadership fosters academic excellence and service.
As Swim Captain, she builds team unity, manages social media, oversees suit and clothing orders, and leads fundraising efforts.
A Student Council Representative since sophomore year, Kari has planned major events like Snow Week and Homecoming while attending conferences and driving school initiatives.
In the Band Leadership Team, she organizes concerts, pep bands, and banquets while welcoming new members to the program.
Kari’s dedication, organization, and enthusiasm make her a standout leader and role model.
Rotary Student of the Month
Congratulations to Anna Voigt and her recognition as Rotary's January Student of the month for her leadership in financial literacy, her work with DECA, and her academic work at ERHS!
Elk Pride Award Winners

Counseling Update
2025-2026 Course Registration now open!
Course registration for the 2025-2026 school year is still open through Sunday, December 20, 2024 at 2:30 pm. Materials are also available on the ERHS Counseling website. Students should complete their course registrations through their Student Portal account. Failure to register during this window could cause you not to get the classes you want!
For assistance with Registration, the Counseling Office have the following available for students:
Registration Elk Times: 12/17/2024, and 12/19/2024.
Career Center Open: Tues/Thurs from 7:00am-7:30am.
Please do not forget to register before the deadline Dec 20, 2024 2:30 PM.
