Amherst Band Boosters 2024
Spring Calendar Raffle
Calendar Ticket sales will begin in March and winners will be announced daily in April.
From now until February 24th, Band Boosters will collect donations for calendar prizes! If every band family donates at least $10 we will have great prizes to offer!! Donations can be in the form of gift cards, certificates, baskets, or cash!
Students may bring donations in an envelop marked "Calendar Fundraiser" and give them to Mr. Dubbert, or place them in the blue bin in Mr. Barbaro's office. We can also accept Venmo @Amherst-BandBoosters http://account.venmo.com/u/Amherst-BandBoosters Please include "Calendar Fundraiser" in the Venmo comments.

Disney Payment
The last Disney Payment is due on February 15th.
We CANNOT be late with the final payment because the money has to be sent to Disney!
If you varied from the payment schedule and are unsure of your outstanding balance, please contact Mr. Barbaro to avoid any discrepancies or over payments.

Festival of Bands!
Join us Monday, March 4th at 7 PM in the Steele Gymnasium (south end of the building) for an evening showcasing talented young musicians from AJH and Steele.
$3 admission by cash, check or Venmo.
Band Boosters will be in the South Lobby before and after the performance for Calendar Ticket Sales!

Final Forms
Please make sure your student's Final Forms are up to date by Tuesday, March 6th.
Hard copies are made and travel with us to Disney.

Disney Parade!
Amherst Marching Comets will perform on Sunday, March 24th BEFORE the 3 PM Festival of Fantasy Parade. Step off is around 2 PM
We recommend checking out some of the viewing locations an hour or 2 prior to showtime.

Concession Stand Sales!
Band Boosters are set to help out with Steele Concessions!
The Choir manages concession stand operations for all Steele Comets' activities. If they are unable to fill the positions needed with Choir parents, Band Boosters will send an email/post a sign up on social media for Band parent help! If you fill a volunteer position, please include "band" by your name to ensure funding is properly distributed.

Booster Meetings
Booster Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of every month. Meetings are a great way to stay informed about what's happening with band students of every grade level. This is also when we make plans for upcoming events!
Everyone is welcome and we'd love your input!!
Our next meeting is Tuesday, February 27th, at 6:30 PM in the Steele Band Room.

The band app has been a lifesaver in keeping us organized and allowing us to share information and great photos with each other! All current Marching Band PARENTS/GUARDIANS are encouraged to join. For privacy reasons, you'll be asked your name and your student's name prior to joining.
Students may not join. Incoming Freshman parents are invited to join in June! We'll help keep all the band camp info organized for you!

Booster Involvement
The Amherst Band Boosters is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer-based organization. The Booster's mission is to support the Amherst Exempted Village School District's band program and provide a positive and enriching experience to band students at all grade levels. This is possible thanks to fundraising and community donations.
The Booster funds help provide for all grade levels of the band program beyond the district's allocated budget. Some examples include:
Capital expenditures
Instrument purchases and maintenance
Purchase and maintenance of Steele's concert attire
Purchase and maintenance of marching band uniforms
Music licensing fees and books
Transportation
Trailer customization for secure instrument and supply transportation
Maintenance and repairs for the trailer
Gas and tolls to transport the instruments and supplies
Student experiences
Snacks and treats
Student dinners and parties
Band Camp Spirit Week
Awards
Competitions
- OMEA fees for all grades 5-12
AMC drill & choreography fees
AMC color guard flags
The Boosters are also able to organize chaperones and volunteers to support the bands with events such as:
Home and away football games for AMC
Year-round competition shows for Steele and AJH
Concerts for all grade levels
Band camp for AMC
The Band Boosters are vital to the Amherst Exempted Village School District's successful band program. Families of band students in any grade level are encouraged to participate in Band Boosters to help create an enriching and successful experience for their students.
Not to be confused with Pay To Play money, which is paid to the school district, NOT the band or other activities the students participate in. Pay To Play money is used to provide building and grounds maintenance, transportation, utilities, supplies, coaching contracts, and more for the
school district.
Donation letters are available upon request with any donation made.
