Grant Parent Newsletter
Dear Grant Community
We have successfully completed over 100 days of school! We know we couldn’t have done this without the support of all of our families and the dedicated work of our teachers and staff at Grant.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or suggestions. It is through these suggestions we get better.
For the kids,
Kirsten Mittelstaedt-Directora; mittelstaedtk@eastmont206.org

Grant Drop-Off and Pick-Up Reminders
Student safety is our priority.
Please use the drop off/pick-up line only. Everyone is in a hurry. We understand and are working hard to be as efficient as possible.
Many behaviors are unsafe. It is unsafe to cross in front of cars, block the flow of traffic, do U-turns, and call students to cross the street to a waiting parent. I ask that the pick up and drop off lines are used only. Please be courteous to all families at Grant and follow this expectation. It is also courteous to the neighbors who live across the street from our school.
Parents, if you do walk to meet your child, wait for them at the large Grant sign or over near the kindergarten students. The side-walk in front of the students is a staff/student zone.
PTO Sponsored whole school reading experience:
Thank you PTO for supporting our very first One Book, One School event. As a school, every student, teacher, and staff member will be given the SAME book. We will all enjoy reading a book together. The first week of March will bring more information for families about the program and our reading will begin the week of March 8th. We will use Parent Square and Teacher’s Google Classrooms, and some paper to communicate the week of March 1st.
The book is called, A Boy Called Bat by Elena Arnold.
Grant Library Check Out has started!
Students are able to check out books from our library and will be able to place books on hold as well. We are happy to get library books back in the hands of students.
IF you have any library books around from last year, turn them in! We are beginning to send out notifications to students who have fees/fines associated with items not yet turned in. If you have a question on any notification you’ve received, please call our office.
