Cherry Drive Weekly Update
March 22, 2024
Dear Cherry Drive Families,
Thanks for a great week. We sold LOTS of chocolate so far! Please be sure to turn in all money, which is due today. We will share totals and our culminating assembly date next week!
Our March Madness tardy challenge has really helped improve our tardies this past week. Check out the bulletin board below and the classrooms moving forward in the bracket - Ms. Tuite, Ms. White, Ms., Roman, Mrs. Larison, Ms. Dugan, Ms. Waters, Mr. Sibley and Mr. Laird. Even if your child's class did not move forward, please continue to make efforts to get them here before 7:50am. We hope to see many of you at the dance tonight! Have a great weekend!

Adams 12 5 Star 5K
We have created a team called Cheetah Champions for the Adams 12 5 Star 5K! Please join us and bring your families on April 20th. So far, the whole office staff and Ms. Fryer are all signed up! You can walk, run, sprint, waddle, etc. Last year, many of us brought our children and it was a lot of fun. Please consider joining us for some healthy community building. When you sign up, you will join our team from a drop down menu. Sign Up HERE.
Staff's Favorite Things
During our staff appreciation week, each day has a dress up theme and a suggested gift or item for staff members. If you would like to participate, you can learn about our staff's favorite things on this document. Anything you can do to show your love for the staff is appreciated.
We are also asking families (parents/guardians/extended family) to consider writing kind notes or cards to teachers and other staff members to show your appreciation. A short note of thanks goes a long way.
Yearbooks for Sale
Yearbooks are for sale through April 5th. Buy one today! They are really great and a special way for your child to remember their year. They are $25 and you can pay online through this link.
PAWS Meeting - Parent Active Within Schools
In response to your feedback, we are hosting an in-person PAWS meeting in the evening. We will meet on Wednesday, April 10th at 5pm. We will have a virtual option as well and will send the link out closer to the date. We will have pizza and childcare. Childcare will be provided from Honor Society high school students. We will share an agenda closer to our meeting and hope to see many of you there! We will ask you to RSVP here.
CMAS Testing - Coming Soon
It is almost that time of year that our 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students begin to prepare for Colorado State Testing. Each grade will take 3 days worth of tests in both English Language Arts (reading and writing) and math. 5th graders will also test in science. Testing will begin the week after Spring Break. (April 9th)
Please ensure your child gets a good night of sleep before the tests, eats a healthy breakfast (or gets breakfast at school), and is at school on time for testing days. Once testing begins in class, any student who arrives late cannot join their class and will have to make up testing during other times of the day. Students have been working extremely hard all year and we simply want them to try their best and take their time.
Please see the schedule below to ensure your child is in attendance and appointments/other events are scheduled around these times.
