Principal Notes
We hope your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving Break! As we return to our regular schedules and routines, we may encounter some challenges. However, we can overcome these challenges by reminding ourselves of the Cheyenne PRIDE Expectations, district policies, and school guidelines. This will help us maintain our focus on learning during the last 14 days before the end of the semester. You can find all the necessary details and reminders near the bottom of our newsletter.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind:
- **The semester ends and grades will be finalized. Grade levels and teachers have communicated their final deadlines for their courses.
- **Recess**: We will go outside as long as the temperature and wind chill are not below freezing.
- **Charge Chromebooks**: Please remember to charge Chromebooks every night.
- **Attendance Matters**: Please be on time to school. Advisory is a class, and attending all courses on time is important for effective learning.
Parents of 8th Graders:

Cheyenne Students of the Month
Mustangs of Character
Hello Cheyenne Families!
Our amazing teachers and staff have expressed SO MUCH appreciation for the tasty treats and drinks you provided to keep them going strong throughout the day! We are running very low, so it's time to restock the teacher’s lounge! The only way we can do that is with your help!
The SignUpGenius at the below link lists the items that have been a hit in the past. Would you consider donating at this time? Sam’s and Costco are great options if you’d like to buy in bulk! But smaller packs are great as well.
It's so easy:
- Sign up for what you'd like to donate to the teachers' lounge by using the choices on the SignUpGenius.
- Drop off your items labeled as “LOUNGE DONATION” at the front office (or have your student drop them off there).
- Give yourself a high five for being awesome!
The PTO will take it from there!
Here is the link to sign up: SIGN UP HERE!
Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions. My email is amydbaskin@gmail.com.
With Gratitude,
Amy Baskin

Cheyenne ESports
Hello everyone, my name is Clayton Dimick, and I teach 7th grade Eastern Geography at Cheyenne Middle School! I am excited to announce that Cheyenne now has an Esports Team! Over the past couple of months, Principal Grinsteiner, Assistant Principal Wheeler, and I have been working to create an Esports program that will give students the opportunity to compete using the skills they’ve developed throughout their lives. Currently, we can only accept 7th and 8th grade students, but we hope that, if all goes as planned, 6th graders will be able to join next year as we expand the program. This year-long program allows students to play and compete in a few approved games by Edmond Schools. We hope to expand the program and join organizations like OSSAA, giving your brilliant and competitive students the chance to prove their mettle! We would love for your student to join, but because we are still a small program, there will be dues for the team participants that will help fund additional enrollment fees and consumable products. Since this is a year-long program and an extracurricular activity, it will follow Cheyenne’s guidelines regarding eligibility, participation in other activities, and Mustang PRIDE. I look forward to seeing your child join us and watching them create memories that will last a lifetime! At the bottom you will see a link that sends you to my Information Document that has the interest forms for BOTH you and your child to fill out!

Traffic
Please help us get students into school on time and safely.
Here are helpful tips:
Focus and put cell phones away while driving in the school zone
Pull vehicles all the way to the blue line on each loop
Students should get out of the car along the sidewalk of the drives and medians in the lot
Do not get out at the red light or along Covell or Kelly
Students should be ready to get of the car when vehicles stop
Use crosswalks
If you need more time with your student please pull into a parking space
