What's Up At The Nest...
Principal's Message
Dear OMS families,
We made it through our first 4 day week! We had a great week but could use your help reminding your child about expected school behaviors. The key topics that we had to address as a school were keeping our bathrooms clean (not throwing paper towels/toilet paper on the floor and kicking or unlocking stalls that have been closed to help with social distancing) and playing safely during recess.
Parents, we also need your help during drop off and pick up. We received several phone calls and emails this week regarding morning drop off and the safety of our students. Please take a moment to review our guidelines below. We know that these are stressful times of the day but if we all abide by our procedures we can make it as smooth as possible.

Morning Drop off and Afternoon Pick up Guidelines
- 8:50 am Students MAY exit vehicles
- Exit from the PASSENGER SIDE ONLY
- NO drop off along the curve, unless directed by an OMS staff member
- DROP OFF PROHIBITED along Olive Street, and the N. Pine and N. Belmont cul de sacs
- Drivers MUST remain in the vehicle
- ALWAYS PULL FORWARD when traffic allows
- Items SHOULD NOT be taken out of or placed in the trunk.
Please remember we have over 550 students arriving at school each day. We only have 1 school bus that means unless our students are walking, we have between 200 and 300 cars dropping off and picking up on any given day. With your help, we can safely get all of our students into the building between 8:50 and 9:05/9:10. If you do not want to use the loading zone we encourage you to park in the Orchard Church Parking Lot and have your child walk to the building using the cross-walk with Ms. Vicki.
