Sheldon Family Survey
As part of our Head Start Grant application process, each year Sheldon staff develop a Self-Assessment and Annual Report. We are asking for your input to ensure our program meets the needs of our families. Please complete this short survey by Monday, May 13th. We appreciate your help and support!
Family Advocate Packet
We would appreciate families returning the Family Advocate Packets you received. These help us with knowing what resources we need to locate for families and or training/community support we need to bring in. Thank you!
Summer Learning Kits
All Sheldon students will receive a summer learning kit. This has a summer review book in it with lots of skills for kids to practice over the summer. All supplies needed to complete the activities are in the kit, along with some extra fun! Teachers may send these home with students by the last day of school or they may be bringing them with them to your scheduled home visit.
Last Day of School & 4 Year Old Promotion Ceremony
The last day of school for Sheldon students will be May 14th, which will be a full day of school with transportation running as normal. We end the school year earlier than the rest of the district due to end of the year home visits.
The Promotion Ceremony for our 4 year old students going to Kindergarten next year will be on the last day of school, May 14th. Details are below.
2:00 Ceremony
Room 200 (Ms. Miller) Room 204 (Ms. Jessica)
Room 201 (Mrs. D) Room 205 (Ms. Jackson)
3:00 Ceremony
Room 105 (Ms. Stewart) Room 202 (Ms. Debbie)
Room 107 (Ms. Lewis) Room 203 (Ms. Heather D.)
**Please note, students will wear caps and gowns. Be mindful about hairstyles to make sure the cap fits correctly.
We expect each ceremony to take about 20 minutes. Families will then have 10 minutes to celebrate with their student(s) on the playground and take pictures. After this, teachers will take students back to their classrooms to remove caps and gowns and collect their belongings. We will give them a 5 minute window to do this and then will invite 1 adult to go to the classroom to check-out their student and take them home for the summer! If you choose not to take your child with you at that time, we will send them home their regular way. Please note, there will NOT be a car line running on this day. If your child is a car rider and will not be going home with you following their ceremony, you will need to enter through the front doors beginning at 3:45 and check your student out from their classroom.
There is parking available at the Temple at the end of Munson, and in the surrounding neighborhood. Please be respectful of driveways and any posted No Parking signs. Parking in the front of the building is NOT ALLOWED as this is where our buses park to load students. With parking being limited in our neighborhood, please do not arrive super early for your child’s ceremony as that will make parking more difficult for all!
We are closely monitoring the weather for next Tuesday. If we are unable to have our ceremony outside due to rain, we will provide a link to a virtual ceremony that we will hold inside the building.
