Board Meeting Highlights: Update on Cardinal Health West
At tonight’s Board of Education meeting, our district’s Chief Operating Officer presented a resolution to enter into a purchase agreement with Cardinal Health. The resolution, which was approved by the Board, concerns the acquisition of the Cardinal Health West building, located at 7200 Cardinal Place.
The agreement authorizes the District to purchase the Cardinal Health West building after an acceptable due diligence period. During the due diligence period, Dublin City Schools will determine if Cardinal Health West meets the following conditions:
The site is suitable for educational use and receives zoning approval accordingly
The building and land pass all necessary inspections
The building can be effectively configured to serve as an educational institution
The acquisition aligns with the district's long-term goals strategically and financially
The due diligence period is 365 days. At any point during this time, the District may terminate the agreement for any or no reason at all and receive a full refund of any deposits made. If the District does not terminate the agreement, the purchase will move forward.
Parallel to this evaluation period, district leaders are partnering with Planning Next, a third-party expert, to conduct more than 20 focus group sessions. The objective of the focus groups is to measure sentiments toward various scenarios that would address projected high school growth. The insights gathered from these focus groups will be summarized and shared with the community this summer.
In addition, a survey will be distributed this fall to gather further input on the community's aspirations regarding high school growth and development. The district values the community's feedback and looks forward to engaging with stakeholders throughout this process.

SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT | Chapman Elementary School
Last summer, Chapman Elementary EL teachers Erika Whitmore Fields and Sarah Eisele went beyond the typical school year by visiting homes and providing summer materials to several multilingual Chapman families.
The positive experience inspired them to expand the program this year. They received a Dublin Education Foundation Grant and secured about $3,000 in donations from local businesses. This funding allowed them to offer educational materials, recreational resources, and tickets to experiences like The Dublin Recreation Center, The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Franklin Park Conservatory, Ohio History Center, and COSI. They also provided a calendar of free community events for the summer.
All materials will be delivered during home visits with bilingual aides, giving families the chance to discuss their children's needs and learn about summer opportunities.

Student Experiences Across the District
Dublin City Schools, despite its size, strives to promote unity through well-rounded programs like fencing, rugby, and robotics. These programs help students form friendships and networks across the district, fostering a sense of community beyond their individual high schools. By collaborating and sharing diverse perspectives, students learn the true meaning of being "better together." Check out the video to learn more!
