FEBRUARY 2025
QUOTE OF THE MONTH
FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
Welcome to February!
Each February, people across Canada participate in Black History Month events and celebrations that honour the legacy and contributions of Black people in Canada and their communities. The 2025 theme for Black History Month is: “Black Legacy and Leadership: Celebrating Canadian History and Uplifting Future Generations.” This theme acknowledges the diversity of Black Canadians, the importance of Black leadership, and the legacy being built for future generations
I invite you to click on the link below to learn more about it.
While celebrating Black History Month, we will also celebrate love and friendship. Valentine's Day coming soon gives us the perfect opportunity to nurture not only our students' minds but also their hearts.
Why is this important?
Research shows that teaching skills such as empathy, compassion, altruism, and kindness help children succeed — not just in school, but throughout their lives. As parents, educators, and members of the school community, we all play a vital role in creating an environment where students feel connected and have the opportunity to develop these essential social-emotional skills.
I encourage you to continue practicing these values at home. Using a common language, reinforcing the same core principles, and working together as a team have a tremendous impact. When we align our efforts, we help our children blossom, flourish, and become the best versions of themselves through these invaluable life skills.
Thank you for being part of this journey!
