SOUTH SCHOOL

Another Fantastic Week at South School!
We wrapped up another exciting week at South School with our second All-School Assembly on Thursday! Over the past six weeks, our school has been working together on South SOARS, and this week our amazing 5th graders took the stage to share how they embody Safety, Ownership, Acceptance, and Respect. They provided powerful examples of how they demonstrate these values in their daily lives at South School. Be sure to ask your child how they show SOARS both at school and at home—you might be surprised by the thoughtful responses!
Following the 5th graders’ presentations, we explored the importance of acknowledging our emotions. We discussed how all emotions matter and how they can naturally fluctuate throughout the day or week. It was a meaningful conversation about self-awareness and emotional health that you can continue at home.
To wrap up the assembly, we ended on a high note by singing along to our school theme song for this year—"We Won't Stop Dreaming" by Pinkzebra. It's an inspiring anthem that captures the spirit of South School. Feel free to listen and share it with your family!
We hope to see you on Friday night at the South School Spooktacular! More information below.
Warmly,
Brenda Lee, Principal
Olivia Goodrich, Assistant Principal

ANDOVER HAPPENINGS
APS - Let's Talk!
We are pleased to introduce APS' "Let's Talk" series for the 2024-25 school year. These meetings are offered to all members of the Andover community as a way of creating time and space for conversations about timely topics in an informal setting.
Our first discussion!
Our first "Let's Talk" session will focus on redistricting following the opening of the West Elementary School this fall. We anticipate a redistricting plan will be developed this year and implemented for the start of the 2025-26 school year. Based on the larger capacity of the new building, an outside consultant would support the district to evaluate current and projected enrollment in each school, redraw school boundaries, and recommend the reallocation of district resources.
