Legislative Session @ Santa Fe
The winnners from the from the recent GISD STEM Festival and our Project Search students were provided with the opportutniy to travel to Santa Fe to visit the legislative session.
GHS Enlace
ENLACE is derived from the Spanish word “enlazar,” which means to link or weave together, to connect in such a way that the new entity is stronger than its parts. ENLACE is an acronym for Engaging Latino Communities for Education.
ENLACE New Mexico represents the voices of children and families to develop educational and policy initiatives that directly impact them and their communities.
Our own very Enlace Intern and Panther Ms. Danielle Angelique Meledez was given the opportunity to shadow Lt. Howie Morales
Great Instruction @ GHS in Ms. Hernandez Class
Learning is a social process that requires students to interact and collaborate. Lev Vygotsky’s research suggests we need to present tasks that allow for interaction. Instruction that requires students to communicate their thinking, while reasoning and making sense of concepts will progressively move their understanding to higher levels.
Vertical non-permanent surfaces are ideal for this collaborative, social process of learning. Setting up interactive learning stations where students work in small groups, rather than individually, standing around a vertical whiteboard, rather than sitting at a desk, can be used to explore these types of tasks that encourage open discussions and peer-to-peer learning, as they solve problems.
Thank you to our Cafeteria Ladies

GHS FCCLA
FCCLA Students Stay Busy with Valentine’s & Competition Prep!
Our amazing FCCLA students have had a busy week spreading kindness and preparing for exciting opportunities ahead! They’ve been celebrating Valentine’s Day by hosting a special dinner and showing appreciation for our teachers with beautiful cards and sweet treats.
In addition, they’re hard at work preparing for the Cooking Around the World Competition in Disney World this April! We are so proud of their dedication and can’t wait to see them shine.
Thank you, FCCLA, for your hard work and generosity! 🎉❤️🍽️
