A Message from Roundtown Principal, Dr. Miller
Happy Friday, Roundtown Families & Friends!
The school is excited to host our fall parent/teacher conferences this week and thank you to everyone who signed up for a conference. The teachers have been working so hard to put together an encompassing snapshot of each student to give you a picture of how your child is performing academically, socially and emotionally. The school will conduct a spring conference in March using the same format as the fall. Although you will leave your child's conference with a couple nice academic reports, the first official Skyward Report Card will come online to you in mid-November. Please know your child's teacher and the school is always prepared to discuss your child's progress and you need only ask your child's teacher to discuss at any point.

Have a great weekend! I will be heading back to Johnstown again today as my little cousin gets married and I am beyond excited and honored to be the DJ at his wedding. It will be a good old fashioned Miller shindig and I am excited to see my extended family! I hope you enjoy a couple extra days at home with your child this weekend!

SCHOOL UPDATES
This past week....
Half of our Kindergarteners enjoyed their first field trip to Flinchbaugh's Orchard! The children learned about growing plants and vegetables and even got to pick out an item to bring home.
Four of our second grade classes wrapped up their swimming experience and I heard so many positive comments from the kids about their time swimming. My favorite comment was, "Best time EVER at school!"
The school enjoyed "BLACK" Day to support our kindergarteners and we are coming to an end soon with our weekly color days.
The school conducted its October Fire Drill on Wednesday and as usual, the children followed the plan exactly as its written up.
Fall Conferences will be the school's focus Thursday-Friday.
Coming next week…
A reminder there is NO SCHOOL for students Monday, October 28.
Monday is also MOD Pizza Day for our Roundtown PTO. See the attached flyer to help earn dollars for our Roundtown PTO.
From our Roundtown Librarian, Mrs. Dusich....
Students in Mrs. Peckmann's, Mrs. Smith's, Mrs. Linsey's, Mrs. Hart's, Mrs. Ogelsby's, and Mrs. Smeltzer's classes should have their library books in school for return on Tuesday, October 29.
The second graders from Mrs. Hower's and Mrs. Smith's Classes will start their round of swimming on Tuesday, October 29.
Also starting Tuesday, we will begin our Central York Panther Pantry Holiday-Drive Collection. For next week, we will be collecting canned veggies, fruit, and canned cranberry sauce!
Kindergarten will celebrate its "WHITE" Day on Wednesday, October 30 and everyone is invited to wear white!
The school will hold a team jersey day on Friday, November 1. Show your favorite team spirit by wearing your favorite jersey or team shirt/colors!
Friday evening is also for our next Roundtown Family Night. This time we are at Lazer Alley Bowling in East York from 6-8PM for an awesome night of bowling! See the attached flyer. As a special bonus, Mrs. Fabie and I will hold a friendly bowl-off at 6PM. She always beats me so I don't have much hope I'll win!
