Reminder: No School Monday, May 26th - Memorial Day
- Tuesday, May 27th: The CCPS Library staff will visit to encourage summer reading with our students. All students (PreK-5th) will enjoy this brief presentation. - Thank you Ms. Wooddell for organizing this!
- Wednesday, May 28th: Wheels Day (PreK-2nd) will enjoy visiting a variety of stations and individuals from our community to learn about career options. Thank you Ms. Pearson for facilitating this event!
- Thursday, May 29th: 5th grade Robotics Competition & Celebration (5th graders who have been working with Ms. Perry) - Please ask your child for information sent home from Ms. Perry regarding this event!
Fun & Fitness Day:
We will have Calvert Fun & Fitness Day on Friday, May 30th. If you need to make a change to your Pre-Registration form you will need to contact the main office prior to Thursday, May 29th. (410) 398-5621. Thank you. Please remember to have students wear comfortable clothing (PTO Grade-Level Shirt), sneakers and sunscreen. Students are encouraged to bring a filled water bottle with their name on it as well.

Thank you to Ms. DeCru and Ms. Connell for supporting students this school year in the role of tutors. Your commitment and level of dedication to this task was remarkable! We appreciate all the time spent preparing, delivering instruction and promoting positive reinforcement to our students as they persevered with literacy skills.

Band & Orchestra Enrollment for 2025-2026 School Year

Greetings to all incoming 4th and 5th grade parents and students!
Next school year (2025-2026) your child will have the opportunity to learn an instrument and to be part of the band and orchestra ensembles here at Calvert Elementary. Attached to this email you will find an enrollment letter, instrument rental flyer, and a link to our CCPS instrumental music website (where you can enroll your child). Please complete the enrollment form as soon as possible - do not wait until September to enroll!
If your child played an instrument this past year, you do NOT need to fill out the enrollment form.
All current 3rd grade students will attend a presentation before the end of the school year where I will introduce and demonstrate each of the band and string instruments. I will also go over some basic information about the instrumental music program during the presentation.
Here are a few important dates to note:
Instrumental Music Enrollment Period: May 27 - September 5
Last day to rent an instrument and receive by first week of lessons: July 31
First week of band and strings lessons: September 8 - September 12
2 month trial period for Music and Arts rentals: September 11 - November 11
Beginner students need to have instruments and all lesson materials by September 15
