Our Mission:

Tumuaki Korero - Principal's Message
Well winter certainly feels as if it has arrived at IPS!
Today we welcomed St John Bosco into our Kura for the Year 5 and 6 interschool. It is wonderful to see so many students representing our school in so many different ways, from on the sports fields and courts to the chess board and participating in our mihi whakatau, showing manaakitanga and tikanga.
Our roll continues to grow, and we now have over 400 students. It is natural for students to sometimes experience some form of conflict with each other. As part of our commitment to fostering a supportive and empowering learning environment, we encourage our students to build resilience and develop problem-solving skills, especially when it comes to handling conflicts.
While it's natural to want to step in and resolve issues for your child, allowing them the space to navigate and resolve conflicts independently can be incredibly beneficial. These experiences help children learn important life skills such as communication, empathy, and perseverance. The staff guide students in developing these skills, and we provide support when needed.
We also understand that children's viewpoints don't always accurately reflect what has happened. It's important for them to learn to see situations from multiple perspectives and to develop the ability to resolve misunderstandings. Staff take the time to talk to the students involved so we can hear these different perspectives and provide support and guidance moving forward.
Lately, we have observed that parent interventions can sometimes exacerbate these issues. Please be assured that our teachers will contact you if we feel your child is experiencing conflict problems that they cannot resolve on their own. We believe addressing these issues through the school rather than involving other parents directly to ensure a fair and supportive resolution is best.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping our students become confident and capable.
Have a fabulous weekend.
Ngā mihi

Term 3 Out of Zone Enrolment
Enrolment at Inglewood School is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available on the school website or from the school office.
The board is now inviting applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Inglewood Primary School starting within Term 3 2024.
All applications must be received by 3pm Monday 24 June for Term 3 2024. If a ballot for out of zone places is required, it will be held on Wednesday 26 June 2024. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
The board has determined that 10 places from Year 1-5 are likely to be available for out-of-zone students within Term 3 2024. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone. Parents of students who live within the home zone and intend enrolling their child at any time during the year should notify the school to assist the school to plan appropriately.
The application form for enrolment is available from the school website, or from the school office.
Please note, that if the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
Details relating to the next enrolment period Term 4 2024 will be published September 2024.
